Advantages: triple blade action, 5-6 shaves of each blade, extremely close shave.

Disadvantages: price of replacement blades

Well i have got to say that the mach 3 in opinion is the best wet shaver on the market.

I have tried many razors in the past and excuse the punn but nothing comes close to the mach 3.

I often had problems when shaving my neck, i could only ever shave upwards when i used the old bic disposables which never gave me a close shave and if i tried shaving downwards it would cut my neck to shreds.

I then received a mach 3 gift set for my birthday off my sister and that night had a nice hot bath and thought i would try out the mach 3 used with the gillette shaving gel. I was so impressed with the razor, it was just shaving so close and i could shave my neck upwards and downwards without any sorness or cutting.
Also the blades last for 5-6 shaves........brilliant.

The only downside to the mach 3 is the price of the replacement blades that cost a whopping £9.98 for 8. Its because of this that i started to try other premium razors, i tried everything from wilkinson sword to the tesco competitor matrix and nothing came close to the mach 3. The best of the rest was suprisingly the tesco matrix, not quite as good as the mach 3 but not bad and the replacement blades are half the price, though you get less shaves per blade so this may workout roughly the same value as the mach 3.

All in all the gillette mach 3 is the best razor on the market and certainly take some beating.

Summary: A cracking razor that will certainly take some beating.
