I believe that these are the best blades on the market. I have tried multiple blades before (I think they are running at 5 now?!) and I've been exceptionally dubious since three and above. The blade head just becomes too unwieldy, especially around curves in the face. This might be a particular problem for me because I have a strong jawline, so the curve is quite tight. So two blades offer the best mix between precision and shaving 'power'. It's genuinely useful to have a second blade that catches hairs missed by the first, but if you are going at a sensible pressure and speed it's rare that they miss any at all.
