You know how it is; you buy a shaving item of some brand/type, and not wanting to think hard or dilly dally much in a feminine Boots, you just plump for any recommended same brand matching accessories. Atleast I do, also in my own weird domesticated weak-male-thinking way I like seeing Gillette products lined up in a little row in the bathroom. They whisper "man lives here"..Their design is quite blue/silvery space-age. I'm one of those sensitive people...So the Cool Wave range by Gillette is what's suitable for other guys (and girls) like me. 195g of shaving gel and 100ml of after-shave gel are what you can pick up for about a tenner together. ... Having been a foam user for a number of years it seemed strange using gel for the first time. When applied to the skin the gel quickly turns into a foam, but not as, erm, *fluffy* as normal foam, and so it sticks to your face better (doesn`t fall off like some cheap foams do!). It also has a much better feel on your skin than foam does, which means a better and more refreshing shave. At the moment you can buy three differant types of Gel - theres the Normal type (Blue Bottle) and Sensitive skin variety (Green Bottle) and the new variety, called "Wild Rain" which is what i`m currently using, which i find even better than the orginal Normal gel. ... I have been using gillete shaving gel ever since my first shave, it came with the razor which I got for Christmas. I have found it gives a pretty close shave without causing too much irritation, I hate shaving and avoid it as often as I can but this stuff makes it bearable. It comes with a couple of fragrances with the usual cheesey names like cool rain, but what doo you expect, it's gillete we're talking about. It comes out of the can as a gel, not suprisingly since thats what it is but it forms a nice thick foam when you put it on your face. I have found that gillette makes slightly better gel than wilkinson sword as it is thicker. I ... Read the complete review

Let me see. I used to use foam, but then I decided to give the Gilette gel a go. I've not even considered going back. Basically (and there's not much to say, to be honest), it's a canned gel that turns to foam when you rub it onto your face. Apparantly it's got plenty of moisterisers and stuff in it, so it helps to prevent razor burn. Errr...it smells good...err...err...the price isn't too bad...err.. Oh, and as it's a condesed gel, you don't need much to cover your face. Obviously this gives you a lot more use from a single can, which gives it another economic advantage over a can of foam. Well, what more can I possibly say? ... Read the complete review
