Handy Gurugu

Description: Manufacturer: Lush / Type: Hand Cream

... do find the product greasy though, so I tend to use it at before going to bed at night, when I dont have to touch or hold anything. It is a little more expensive than some of the handcreams, even other ones from Lush, but its worth the extra. You also dont need to use alot, so the 100g pot goes along way. Infact I have had mine for 10 months now and I use it most days and I am very near the bottom. Despite thefact the smell is a little strange, I will definatly be investing in some more....more

Premium Review Handy Gurugu: A very handy hand cream (469 words)

The jury is still out on this product. Lush have created a brand new hand cream. It is in exactly the same style packaging as its other two hand creams - a 100g, little black pot which is made of recyclable material and has a screw-top lid. In all fairness to Lush, they cram the pot full of product so you are getting good value for money. This hand cream costs 6.12 and, as instructed on the pot, if you return 5 empty black pots they will give you a free face mask! Now that's a bonus and an incentive to keep you recycling your stuff and helping to save the planet - fab The ingredients list is quite exhaustive, with a veritable feast of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Helpful and Herbal but certainly not Heavenly (461 words)

Described by Lush as a helpful, heavenly, herbal hand cream. I would agree with two of those statements, it's certainly helpful and herbal, but it's certainly not heavenly! Alot of people think it is but unfortunately I'm not one of them. Now don't get me wrong, if you can put up with the overpowering smell, then this might just well be the hand cream for you, as it certainly does what it says on the tin, it's one of the most effective hand creams I have ever come across but each time I try and use it the smell makes me nauseous, I think it's to do with the Shea butter in it, but to me it just smells like like plastic....ick :( On opening the tub ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Handy Gurugu: What's a Gurugu?! (713 words)

Here I am with yet another Lush review! It's weird because I don't think I've set foot in the place since June, but I still have loads of their products lying around the house. When my last hand cream ran out I really wanted to buy one of the Lush hand creams to replace it. I decided on Handy Gurugu over the other two they make - Smitten and Helping Hands - but if I'm honest, I don't really know what it was about this that stood out. The hand cream comes in one of Lush's famous black pots. A lot of their products come in these pots and they are very plain and boring to look at, but Lush say it's so that you know you're paying for quality ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Handy cream for dry hands (254 words)

My family seem to think that I am difficult to buy presents for (which I am not!) so there seems to be an unwritten rule that anything from Lush will be okay for me (which is quite accurate actually!) My Aunt bought Handy Gurugu as a Christmas present last year, and at first I wasnt too sure. Some days I adore the smell, and somedays its a bit overpowering. I cant put my finger on what I dont like about its smell, but its a bit much sometimes. Having said that, I absolutely love the cream itself. I do suffer from dry hands and I have tried lots of handcreams, but this is the best by far. I like the fact that its a natural product, and is full of ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Handy Gurugu: For Soft Hands (421 words)

I love Lush nearly everything from Lush, so when I was given a pot of Handy Gurugu as a birthday present I was obviously really happy. My friend knows me well. I always have dry hands, it must be all the washing up I do. So I was eager to give Handy Gurugu to add itself to my list of Lush favourites. Lush describe Handy Gurugu as a helpful, heavenly herbal hand cream. It is made from natural shea butter which has been sourced from a village in Ghana called Gurugu. It has been blended with Rose Water and six other natural oils and butters. I think it's the Rose Water that gives the hand cream it's scent - which Lush describe as the ...  Read the complete review
