I love Lush nearly everything from Lush, so when I was given a pot of Handy Gurugu as a birthday present I was obviously really happy. My friend knows me well.
I always have dry hands, it must be all the washing up I do. So I was eager to give Handy Gurugu to add itself to my list of Lush favourites.

Lush describe Handy Gurugu as a helpful, heavenly herbal hand cream. It is made from natural shea butter which has been sourced from a village in Ghana called Gurugu. It has been blended with Rose Water and six other natural oils and butters.

I think it's the Rose Water that gives the hand cream it's scent - which Lush describe as the "most fragrant" hand cream you can get your hands on. Unfortunately for me, the smell is really strong and overpowering, it also lasts for hours which if you like the smell is a good thing. For me it's a bit much.

This is a real shame, because as a hand cream it really is fantastic. It is absorbed quickly and isn't too greasy. It also works well on my weak nails helping to give them a bit of much needed strength. The cream is really smooth consistency that feels nice when you put it on, you don't need to use a lot either which means even with daily use a 100g pot last a long time.

I would suggest trying it in the shop or asking for a sample before you buy it, so you can see if you like the smell first.

Handy Gurugu is made from Fairtrade products and is also suitable for Vegans.
