Issey Miyake Aftershave

I first discovered Issey Miyake's L'Eau D'Issey pour Homme in late 1999, although the fragrance has been on the market for ten years now, having been released in 1992. As well as the Men's Eau de Toilette there is of course L'Eau d'Issey for women, which is similarly packaged although the bottle is a conical shape, rather than the "wedge of cheese" shape. Best way to describe my bottle of Issey is to say it is not possible to damage or break it. In the 3 years I have had mine (yes, thats right, same bottle)It has travelled the world in my suitcases and hand luggage and sat proudly on the shelf of many hotel bathrooms. Today Gingaro will be reviewing an old favourite, L?eau D?Issey. A fragrance although made in France is a product of the Japanese fashion/fragrance house Issey Miyake. I was introduced to this fragrance by a friend of the family. Now don?t get me wrong, I don?t go around smelling people, this smell simply wafted my way whilst out one night. INITIAL NOTE ----------------------------------------------------- On christmas morning, I was pleasantly surprised with a long elongated box, wrapped up carefully. As I opened the box, again, was welcomed by masses and masses of white card (to make the bottle look bigger I think on the shelf - a little commercial trick I think) I really like this smell, but will warn that it isnt the taste of everybody. Issey Miyake is a native of Japan, having been born in Hiroshima back in 1938. He gained exeperience of the fashion world duiring stints working and studying in Paris and New York. He then branched out on his own and set up the Miyake Design Studio in Tokyo in 1970. He announced his arrival on the fashion scene in 1973 when he introduced his "East meets West" theme to the world. Now the after shave. I really like it.
