Advantages: Great smell, strong bottle, reasonably priced
Disadvantages: Breakable top, easily marked exterior
Best way to describe my bottle of Issey is to say it is not possible to damage or break it. In the 3 years I have had mine (yes, thats right, same bottle)It has travelled the world in my suitcases and hand luggage and sat proudly on the shelf of many hotel bathrooms. It is my holiday fragrance you see. Let me tell you about it. Smell/Fragrance. ----------------- Sweetest smelling, fresh and clean. The only way to describe it. It has quite a fruity smell to it for a men's aftershave. Not a hint of the spices that many competitors pack into their product. In fact, it is a very cool feel on the nostrils of both the wearer and his/her admirers. Feel/Irritation. ---------------- It has a very clean feel on and my skin has a good tolerance to it. It always feels cold on my face and neck when I splash it on. It has no colour to the liquid at all which gives it a sense of purity. Bottle. ------- Indestructible. Ive dropped it on some hard surfaces in bathrooms without a scratch. The translucent glassbottle looks and feels very thick and solid. When the bottle is new, it looks lovely. After a few greasy paw prints have got hold of it though, it yakes on a new appearance. It always looks dirty due to the bottle marking easy with its non smooth exterior. The decorative lid that comes with it soon becomes detatched from the screw top that seals the product leaving an ugly sight. Dont be fooled by the picture on here. That silver top will soon be a small coke bottle type lid! Target Audience. ---------------- Probably on the decline nowadays. It had its peak when I bought it as it was the aftershave of choice then. There are so many alternatives now and competitors that it not the natural number 1. The womans fragrance that accompanies it, follows the modern pattern of matching his and hers smells. The ladies one actually smells very similar. (my wife has it). I would suggest a typi
cal user would be late 20's/Early 30's. Only use that as a guide. Im sure there are people that will comment that use it ouside of this bracket! Price. ------ A medium priced product at around £30-£35. Not bad for a bottle of Aftershave. Boots normally have some sort of special offer with Issey Miyake. Overall. -------- A nice smell that I use for special occasions (hence the 3 years life span) it holds it smell well as it smells as fresh today as it did then. The bottle is strong if somewhat easy to mark and the top is not design well. An "Andycharger" recommended product.

- 29/01/02 Yes, I have one more which I have mentioned in my Hugo opinion. That is called Pi and it is not very well known. I loved it when I smelt it in a magazine but not when I bought the bottle. Get ready for it another day. |
