Disadvantages: Skin didn't feel as fresh as it could, Still on the search for the ideal product
“Tiger Tiger here, I have to confess it has been nearly 2 months since my last beauty product review” Voice of dooyoo booms down, “well get on with it then”. “ok ok” says a trembling TigerTiger. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As you may know I am not averse to trying out a new beauty product and just because I haven’t been writing many reviews of late, is not to say that I haven’t been busily scouring the shelves of Boots as ever. One of the products that I have been trying out is Johnson’s 3 in 1 Cleansing lotion. I was standing in the skin care aisle one day despairing as of late I have been having problems with my skin. I always had pretty good skin, it may have been prone to the odd spot, but nothing serious, however, of late it has been in crisis. Stress I presumed, but well I was determined that my skin care regime was not going to exacerbate the problem. So, there I was looking at the masses of products and trying to decide which one was best to go with. I got chatting to a lady and she told me that she didn’t believe in all these expensive crèmes that charged the earth and often caused a lot of problems because they were full of perfumes and chemicals, basically you just don’t know what you are putting on your skin. She said how she had always used Johnson’s baby products and general skin care range and she had never had any problems. It was the most sensible advice I had in a while and the ranges certainly were price wise, so who was I to argue. ~~The Product~~ Johnson’s 3 in 1 Cleansing Lotion is part of the Johnson’s ph 5.5 facial care range. Basically this range aims to provide gentle skin friendly with its ph value that is in tune with that of our skin. It comes in a white squeezy bottle with the purple and pink Johnson’s logo. Not very glamorous packaging, but functional nonetheless. The pr
oduct itself is a 3 in 1 cleansing lotion, in that it means that it has a cleanser, eye make-up remover and Toner all in one. This is one of the reasons that it appealed to me. So many times I have used cleansers on my eyes only to find that I am left with blood shot and sore eyes. I mean cleansing products are bound to go pretty close to the eyes, so why not make them all eye friendly, that is my opinion anyway! So, did it really save me time and the pain of using 3 products and did it helo me fight against problematic skin? All will be revealed! ~~IT’S PERFORMANCE~~~ ~~Ease of Applicability~~ The product was very easy to apply. On the bottle it claims that you can spread it all over your face, eyes and neck and then simply wipe off with cotton wool. Ultimately that there is no need to rinse off as well. I took a huge big dollop of the cream and rubbed it all over my skin. I then took some cotton wool and went to remove it. Afterwards I was disappointed I have to admit as my skin didn’t feel that clean. I mean you know that feeling you get when your skin is fresher than fresh after being cleansed and toned, well I didn’t get that with this. I have to admit that I resorted to washing my face over with some water afterwards. I guess that completely defeated the object of the product. Yes, I was disappointed. Yes, it did prevent me having to use three products and it was gentle and didn’t aggravate my eyes, however, the three products separately may have done a much better job to be honest. The smell of the product was very neutral and fresh smelling, therefore was not offensive in anyway, neither was it particularly attractive either. Functional rather than luxurious. ~~Results on my skin~~~ I used the whole bottle of this cleanser up, I mean it cost over £4 so I thought I had better not waste it! I think it lasted me about a month; I am quite good at keeping my skin clean, so
I use it twice daily at least, sometimes 3 times a day if I go out in the evening. In the time I was using Johnson’s cleanser my skin was certainly no worse than usual, in fact I think it may have improved a little. I could not criticise it for affecting my skin detrimentally. ~~~Conclusions~~ To be honest I am not sure what I think of this product. On one hand I had no extra breakouts on my skin and it seemed to keep it clean. However, also my skin didn’t feel as clean and fresh as some other products have left it and so I am unsure as to whether I would buy it again. I am giving it 3 stars an average rating, as it wasn’t so bad that I don’t recommend it, yet it wasn’t so good that I am telling everyone to run out and buy it either. I am sure there are better products out there that do all three jobs and help in preventing bad skin, I just have to keep on looking for them. If anyone has any suggestions as to what I can try next I would be very grateful.

- 11/06/01 I use that No7 remover for waterproof makeup, pretty good, but a little greasy! OK... rant on.... that advert where the woman dresses up as a clown and then takes off the make-up with one wipe of a PH5.5 wipe.... how gullable to they think we are?!!!!!!!! They do NOTHING, except slightly smudge waterproof mascara! Rant finished... I feel much better! |

- 11/06/01 Rant on, most products are useless! Actually those olay wipes can get paint stripper off if you are interested. It took my skin about 6 weeks to get over it....ouch, they were so expensive as well. |

- 11/06/01 I'm rubbish with make-up, I always rub my eyes when I'm wearing maskara so I have to wear 'completely-waterproo f-will-not-rub-off-even-i f-you-rub-all-day-wilst-b eing-rained-on'. Result is I need waterpoof make-up remover to get it off and I don't think this will cut the mustard! Those blimmin wipes don't... I feel a rant coming on.... Great op btw! |
