Advantages: Smooths lines, protects from sun, contains light reflecting particles, suitable for sensitive skin.
Disadvantages: May not be suitable for very dark skin tones as contains a mineral sunscreen - may appear chalky.
Daily Eye repair is a lightweight, yet nourishing cream for the under-eye area. It’s designed to be used during the daytime, and contains a non-chemical SPF 10 to protect the delicate eye area of the sun’s rays. It contains borage and natural vitamin E to help rehydrate and smooth lines, and echinacea to help strengthen the skin. Liz Earle uses premium, natural ingredients, so this product is superb quality – it is very gently, yet effective.
CREAM CONSISTENCY
The cream is quite rich, but very smooth so it blends in nicely. I squeeze out a small amount onto my ring finger, and then blend onto the skin under both eyes. The product comes in a tube with a very fine tip, so it’s easy to squeeze out just a little amount, as that’s all that’s needed. I find that I only need a small dot of cream for each eye, and this amount covers the whole of the area under my eyes and blends onto the tops of my cheeks.
BENEFITS
This is primarily a moisturising cream that helps diminish fine lines, but at 20, I do not use it for this purpose. It contains a mineral sunscreen, which protects the area from the sun. I used to only use sunscreens during the summer, but experts say that it is important to use sun protection all year round. Even though the sun doesn’t feel as strong during the winter, the sun’s rays can still damage our skin. I have been using this product for two years, and have noticed that my eye area is smoother and more even in colour. I used to wear foundation all over the eye area to conceal dark circles and unevenness in colour, but now this is no longer necessary. This product also contains light reflecting particles that actually conceal any uneven colour or texture, so this product completely removes the need to apply concealer or foundation to this area. It also acts as a preventative treatment for fine lines, and may keep you looking young for longer.
USAGE
This is primarily an eye cream, but it can also be used on fine lines around the mouth and forehead. Since it contains light reflecting particles, it makes lines appear smoother and finer, wherever it is used.
SUITABILITY
This product is certainly suitable for all ages. I started using it when I was about 18, and liked the fact that it acted like a concealer, but it would also very much suit a more mature skin. It doesn’t contain any chemicals, so it is perfect for very sensitive skins. I have sensitive skin, and wear contact lenses (and find that some products make my eyes sore) and I have never experienced any irritation. Since this product contains mineral sunscreens, it may give a slightly chalky appearance to very dark skin tones, but this is just the nature of the natural ingredients used.
PACKAGING
The product comes in a little cream-coloured tube with a nice little screw top, adorned with a delicate silver band. The packaging is very pretty, and I really enjoy taking it out of my make up bag each morning. As I said earlier, the tube has a very fine tip so it’s easy to apply a tiny amount of cream, which means there is no wastage and it lasts longer.
ANIMAL FRIENDLY
Liz Earle is approved by the BUAV (British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection), which, means that the company does not support any kind of animal testing. Many companies claim to not test on animals, but unless they have been approved by the BUAV it is difficult to know whether they still use ingredient components that have been tested on animals. Liz Earle, however, is completely cruelty free. Another bonus is that this product is vegan.
WHERE CAN I BUY IT?
This product is available on the Liz Earle website - www.lizearle.com, and also on QVC - www.qvcuk.com. QVC often have special offers and sell several Liz Earle products together in a set, which means it’s possible to get a saving.
VALUE
A 10ml tube of Daily Eye Repair costs £10.95 on Liz Earle’s website, and my current tube has lasted over a year, so I feel that it is fantastic value.
RECOMMENDATION
I would definitely recommend this product, as it has helped my skin so much. Liz Earle is a fantastic company, and in my opinion, this is one of their best products.
Summary: A top quality, animal friendly product - perfect for sensitive skin.
