Advantages: It looks cute, it has SPF and it blends well into skin and doens levae a white skin tone.

Disadvantages: Its fairly average as moistuisers go.

This I bought on offer at Boots, where it was £11.99, the price may have differed since but this was only 6 months ago so I doubt it.

The main reason I bought it is because there was a freebie bag that went with it- more money then sense? Yup, that was me back then! But I did choose carefully.

You see, this is part of the L'Oreal skincare section in Boots where you are thrown for ideas and different products, but following the descriptions for your skin type and age group, its quite easy to see what matches your skin type, then you have very little choice.
My skin type is normal/dry and my ages is 27, so I don't really fit into the criteria for dermo-expertise which is "After the age of 30,"but I liked the bottle, and I liked the idea of giving the whole SPF thing a go again, as I do worry, even if I don't use any SPF out of choice, about the damage to my skin. If your looking for the products aimed at you, follow the descriptions of the ranges written along side the prices in Boots stores. (I am sure other stores do them too, but Boots offer advantage points so I tend to only look here). I would imagine you can get the same information via the L'Oreal website.

The cream is a day cream, it has an SPF 15 so its defiantly a day cream, I had previously never really cared about day or night cream, deciding that if they stopped my skin feeling tight, it was good enough for me and I didn't care about the SPF at all really.
The reason I didn't really use anything with an SPF is that I had previously only really used sun cream as a facial SPF, and had always been frustrated at how shiny and greasy it made my skin look, and also that you were then supposed to apply it 30 minutes later, making it look even worse! So I hadn't even really taken in the SPF on this particular cream, I think if I had done, I wouldn't have bought it as a result of my experiences.

But, this cream does seem to be different.

The SPF on the cream is 15 which if you read up on it I think means your supposed to apply it every 15 minutes. Well, I don't know if the cream is that flawless, but it defiantly blends down very well and does not leave your skin shiny, instead its nice and soft and feels moisturised.

The cream itself is white, it has that subtle type of iridescence that all sun creams seem to have, which I later read is actually a feature "pearlecent particles to give the skin a satin finish..." but its not thick and gloopy like a sun cream, and your not left with pale white skin after applying. It also doesn't take long to dry, its dry in under 5 minutes on my skin- but I do have dry skin so this may differ with your skin type. If your applying foundation afterwards, I'd leave it another 5 minutes before applying a powder, but a liquid, cream or mousse would be fine straight away.

I have to say, I don't apply this every 15 minutes, I just apply once in the morning, but I don't go out much in sunlight, I have not got burned while wearing this, but I live in the UK so the idea of getting burnt is pretty funny to me. (I have white white white pale skin that doesn't tan and I have yet to get burnt in the past 10 years and I haven't stepped foot outside the UK.) So I cannot comment on the effects of layering this cream over itself, it does seem like a cream that wouldn't be terrible to layer, though it may get saturated after the third application I would think, I don't feel the need to apply again as I don't feel my skin dries out so I would not even think about layering this. Not to mention it would mean applying my make-up all over again if I did this. Though I have to say the instructions on the bottle say to apply daily, in the morning, they do not mention reapplying in the sun.

The bottle is a nice shape, its like an enlarged test tube with a chic lid and it squirts out at the top. I have to give L'Oreal top marks for this as its the cutest bottle of moisturiser I have. It would also travel well- provided you don't loose the plastic protector lid. Which is easily lost. Its size is roughly 15cm by 5cm width and it holds 50ml which I think will last me roughly 3 months. Roughly £1 per week.

I think I would possibly buy this again, as SPF and UV facial care goes- (there is also UV protection but there is nothing written about weather its UVA or UVB)- this is the best I have found as its easy to use and doesn't show up once applied, it blends well and doesn't smell bad at all. (It smells slightly of baby lotion and vitamin E cream). I don't know about the claims to make skin more taught- but I think if it did that to any real effect, we'd have reduced rates in Botox and the media would be having a field day!

I would have this down as 'nice' cream, its not mind blowing, it leaves my skin soft, but isnt outstanding, its just, well, nice.

Summary: A good moisutiser and SPF protection, but not really that special. Can't really fauilt it though.

SPF 15 means that you could stay out in the sun for 15 times longer than you could with bare skin without burning. The re-application needed for this to be maintained should be on the bottle so if it doesn't say anything you probably don't need to re-apply it in the day.
