Advantages: Natural, gentle, smells lovely
Disadvantages: None - except if you have an allergy to nuts
Lush Angels On Bare Skin is a cleanser and exfoliator, it removes dead skin cells gently, and it cleanses the skin with the most natural ingredients. Loosely based on a Medieval recipe for skin cleansing, it combines traditional ingredients with modern day know how. This product does not look particularly pretty, it is a greyish green colour, and has a consistency similar to Playdough, with bits in it! It comes in a small plastic pot, containing 100g of the “stuff”, it is quite economical because you only need a small amount each time you use it. Here is a full list of ingredients - Ground Almonds, to gently exfoliate (remove dead skin cells) Glycerine, to help your skin absorb and retain moisture Kaolin (china clay), which helps to absorb and retain oils Lavender Oil, helping to balance sebum and act as a bactericide Rose Absolute (Rosa Centifolia), to soften the skin Lavender Flowers, Perfume (natural) Water This product is perfect for sensitive and dry skin. When Lush list the ingredients in their products, they are colour coded, GREEN means organic product, RED means natural product, BLACK means safe synthetic product. All of the ingredients in Angels On Bare Skin are color coded RED. Part of the pleasure of using this product is the fact that the ingredients are natural, we have become so used to synthetic beauty products with scientific names, that it comes as a bit of a shock to use something with real flowers in it! Our facial skin is always exposed to the elements and pollution, and in the case of us ladies (and some men perhaps) is covered with all sorts of make up products day in, day out. Little wonder that many of us have pallid looking skin. The best way to use this product is as follows – Dampen the hands and the face, take a small piece, about the size of a pea and rub on to your face, massage gently for a
bout half a minute, rinse off with warm water, pat face dry with a clean towel. The result is a clean, fresh, soft face, with a glow to it! You will also notice what a nice smell your face has too. You can buy Angels on Bare Skin from any branch of Lush, and a complete list of branches in the UK and Worldwide can be found on the Lush web site. If like me you do not live close to a Lush store, do not despair, you can order online from the same web site, via a secure server. Orders under £30 are charged postage of £2.95; orders over £30 come post-free. Useful for those who are thinking of buying Lush products as Christmas presents. If you are a Lush VIRGIN, then perhaps now is the time to start sampling some of the products they make. I for one have been sampling some of the delightful items available, and Angels on Bare Skin is one product I will be using on a regular basis. Warning, remember that those with a nut allergy will not want to use this product, as it contains ground almonds.
