Advantages: Great for skin, Not too expensive, Vegetarian
Disadvantages: None
"Ewww that's so gross, I keep getting rubbed up against his face..." "Stop complaing" replied spot number 2 "I wish that the boss would stop sending us to the same girl day after day" "Yeah its getting boring seeing the same stuff everyday.." came the reply of the mournful blemish. "I wish she could just buy a decent cleanser, this is just too gross!" "HA HA I'm gonna get rid of you then you ungrateful little spots" I sang So, what was the answer? Well, my poor spots were sick and tired of me and my face so i decided to let them visit someone else for a while! After reading loads of opinions on it, I decided upon Lush, Angels on Bare Skin. Despite the fact that I hate the smell of the Lush shop, or at least I did hate the smell, I thought I should give it a try anyway since it seemed to be working so well for everyone else. In all honesty, the shop does eminate a hideous smell, with a slight hint of sick, it didnt entice me at first glance!! Ok, so in I go...all the beautiful, slim women with their perfect skin made the experience slightly daunting but on I went...that's when the colours struck me, the shop's so bright and cheerful with lots of different colours everywhere! There's a display with a mirror overhung in one corner - which I assume is meant to resemble a bathroom which is vaguely identifiable by the classic black and white tiling effect below, well, within this there is a silver bath full of ice and all sorts of yummy products which you can put into the little pots yourself. In other areas there's bright pine displays laden down with loads of inventive and vegetarian/vegan friendly products. Onto the product in question - Angels On Bare Skin What does it look like? It reminds me a bit of porridge to be honest! It has flecks of green and brown in it (lavender and almond) which just add to the gruel look!
! It's a sort of doughy texture with bits on it =S The idea of the almond is to exfoliate the skin - because it's rough, the lavender helps to balance oil problems and china clay absords excess oil. It comes packaged in a little clear plastic tub with a white lid, adorned with a small white label stating weight, ingredients, use by date and price. Price The product only costs £3.25 per 100 grams of the stuff, not a bad price for a natural, evironmentally friendly product. You can buy the product in a range of sizes which will be displayed on the shelf, or if you only wanted a tiny little bit to try, you can ask one of the shop assistants for a tiny tub instead! I paid about £4 for my tub and it seems to go on and on and on, I must have had it for over 2 months and I use it almost everyday yet theres still loads left! Result? Time to put it to the test, first I took a little toothpaste sized blob out of the pot, rubbed it in my hand til it got warm and added a teensy bit of water. A bit of creamy coloured residue will emerge when you do this but thats ok. Then I rub it in to my face, starting with my chin and working up to my forehead. You begin to look like a bit of an idiot by now, so don't go frightening any young children as you look as though there is oatmeal smeared on your face. Anyway, back on track, I washed it off not expecting that much in all honesty because my skin almost always turns out sore and tight after using cleansing products. I cleaned it all off and wiped the escapees from the fringe of my hair and behind my ears, and had a look in the mirror. Hmm, certainly doesn't look dry, the little patches of dry skin I usually get on my cheek seem to have vanished too... How does it feel? Well, it's not tight or sore, hmm, feels soft and smooth for once...surely this can't be right? Somethings a little strange about this, why does it work so well? Well, yes the result was fantastic. My skin proble
ms cleared up, no more spots (having said that I dont get them too often anyway) and there was no more dry skin! I personally think that this is a great product because firstly it's natural, and secondly it works. Natural products, unlike chemically enhanced products, do your skin no harm at all as they contain to erosive substances. Reasons to buy The product is environmentally and ethically sound. Being a vegetarian I don't want to use non-vegetarian products (i.e. containing animal fat basically!) or products which have been tested on those poor lil' animals that i love so much. It is economically friendly, at only £3.25 per 100 grams, it's much cheaper than some other like products which are on the market. It's a natural product so unlike other chemically products, this product is actually doing your skin some good in the long run, not just in the short run. It's suitable for even the most sensitive of skin types and seems to work on mixed type skins - e.g. oily in some areas, dry in others, giving a great overall effect Reasons not to buy I've thought long and hard about this one and honestly could not think of any that have affected me personally. The only gripe I have with this product is that whenever I use it, it seems to get in my hair, ears, nose, mouth, just about everywhere really! So to counteract this effect, I wear a hair band, shut my mouth, breath deep and wear ear muffs ;)
