Advantages: There are too many to list!

Disadvantages: None

I think Lush has really made a hit with solid toners. They patented the formula and idea for the solid shampoo bars and they've done it again with this one! Baby Face is handy to have on your travels as you can take it with you in it's tin. I came across Baby Face when I was picking up a few bits in a Lush store in Bristol and who can resist that little face!?

Has there ever been a facial cleanser that's smelled quite as delicious as Baby Face Cleansing Bar? On top of a base of nourishing cocoa and shea butters, this bar also contains coconut oil and toning tangerine, giving you a deliciously sweet tropical fragrance. As you massage it onto your skin, you find yourself unable to cease and desist until next thing you know, your face is buried under an inch of addictive oils!

But hey you smell fantastic, and truth be told, no matter your skin type, chances are you won't pay a price for such moments of weakness. Because unlike Lush's oil-based Ultra Bland Cleanser, Baby Face's butters rinse away quite easily, this holding true for all skin types. Simply rub this bar onto your face, massage with your hands, and rinse with a warmly wet washcloth and hey presto! Thats it! You've cleansed your face! No messing around with pieces of cotton wool! Your left with your skin feeling uber smooth.

Of course, Baby Face will leave dry skin feeling like its died and gone to heaven and no that is not an exaggeration! At the other end of the spectrum, oily skin will surprisingly feel soft, clean, and firm, no moisturiser necessary when used on its own. That's not to say I'd recommend Baby Face as a twice daily cleanser for oily skin, as there are better options out there to address its specific needs, and regular use of Baby Face without its being coupled with a deep cleanser on blemish-prone skin can indeed lead to flare ups over time so just be careful on how much you use it. But it doesn't mean you can't indulge now and again.

No matter the skin type seeking to use Baby Face primarily as a makeup remover, a follow-up with your usual cleanser may still be worthwhile; though Baby Face will remove all lip colour and face makeup with ease, you may still find a bit of black residue when confronted with heavier mascaras, especially waterproof mascaras. Your best bet would be to use a toning face wipe to take the residue off.

Yet being particularly gentle, all are guaranteed to feel quite pleased with the balmy smoothing effects it has on the more fragile tissues around the eyes. If you don't happen to wear a resilient brand of mascara, consider yourself lucky and try to avoid double cleansing the eyes; leave Baby Face to work its magic as a great anti-aging tool for brightening the frames of those sparkling windows to your soul. What a deceptive little bar! No wonder this is proving incredibly popluar with all sorts of people in the Lush community.

What Lush say:-

Natural butter bar for conveniently effective cleansing.
The Baby Face bar is another of our solid cleansers which we developed in order to avoid using preservatives on the skin. It melts on the skin so you can softly smooth it all over the places which need cleansing (it's an excellent make-up remover) then to take it off use warm water on 100% cotton wool or a face cloth and you will be astonished at both how lovely and soft your face feels and how clean the Baby Face gets it. Each smiling bar has four different natural plant butters in it to remove dirt and put back moisture. Its lovely scent comes from toning tangerine oil, narcissus (which we use to make you so beautiful you'll want to look at your reflection all the time) and everlasting flower (to give you everlasting beauty).

Baby Face costs £3.87 per bar which I think is incredibly reasonable as it lasts for quite a while. Just don't leave it around by water as it tends to tunn to mush! If you can buy a Lush tin to keeo it safely stored so you can pamper your skin whenever you feel like treating your skin to a perfect treat.

Summary: A great cleansing bar
