Advantages: Soothing, calming wonder of a cleanser.

Disadvantages: I suppose some might not like the smell....

I had combination skin when I bought this, an oily, spotty T-zone, but dryish cheeks. My skin was the bane of my life, I was forever having breakouts. I also had a rash/eczema thing on my forehead next to my hairline, because this part was so very greasy.(I have a fringe) To use this, I wet my hands, pinched off a bit of paste, rubbed it for a few seconds in my hands and then smoothed it over my face. It's very soothing and calming to angry sore skin. Well, after about two months of using this, my spots have gone, my skin is calmer and my rash has gone entirely, which was AMAZING as it had been there for years, ever since puberty kicked in. (I'm now 16)

The seaweed inside it may not look very nice, but if you pull off a sizeable bit and put it directly on a spot, it works wonders!! Mine were all gone by the next morning, and depending on how long you leave it for, they start to disappear that same night!
You can leave the whole cleanser on a bit like a facemask for a while, it might start to sting a tiny bit, but it's not painful really.(NB I have the lowest pain threshold known to man. And woman.) And afterwards your skin looks so much better it's worth it!

The packaging wasn't great, it's greaseproof paper secured with a sticker that tells you about the product. This starts to get wet and the sticker won't work of course. It's ok to take it home like this and it will last you out if it's not moved very much, but I would advise you to tip it into something else, like a plastic box. Or if you're a Lush aficionado, the BodyButter tins are apparently very good and just the right shape!

(EDIT: this now comes in a standard black plastic Lush pot, which is very sturdy and practically unbreakable. I once tried to cut one of these with a sharp craft knife (long story) and believe you me, it took a while!)

The price was good, on the website it's now £5.14. This is either dirt cheap or quite high, depending on your budget, but I did make mine last two months, and it would easily have gone another month and a half, but I wanted to use it up to try something else!

If you buy this off the website, it looks nothing like that in the pictures. It's more a slab of wobbly pink stuff with bits of seaweed in. Some people think it smells of fish, I disagree. I quite like it, but it is rather unusual!

To sum up, this was an excellent product that I would happily buy again and would highly recommmend for angry sore skin. The only reason I stopped using it was I wanted something a bit scrubbier, as this doesn't exfoliate. To me that's a good thing, exfoliating particles would detract from it's soothing qualities.

Summary: A great one for sore/sensitive skin.
