Lush Coalface

Description: Brand: Lush / Skin Care Type: Cleanser

Newest Review: ... Whilst this is eco-friendly etc. it's not exactly convenient. It's a black, almost glittery looking block, which can be ... more

... different shapes and sizes as it's cut from a larger block. It smells really strongly of liquorice, which is surprisingly nice even though I can't stand liquorice! Lathering it up you get a thick grey lather which makes a real mess of your sink. It feels soft and smooth on the skin, and it gives a real deep clean feeling. It doesn't really feel exfoliating, you can't feel any grains in it or anything, but it does leave the skin feeling really smooth so you can tell the exfoliation action works. It leaves skin feel...more

Premium Review Lush Coalface: Ashen complexion? (1316 words)

I am a self confessed Lushaholic! I enjoy trying out their products and am very impressed by their ethical policies, which is why I just keep going back time and time again. They do not test any products or ingredients on animals and don't deal with any companies that do or that deal with any that do, did that make sense? Well they take it seriously anyway. All of their products are vegetarian and a lot are also vegan so the company is great for vegans that struggle to find cosmetic products. They are also environmentally minded making their packaging as minimal as possible and recyclable. I have now tried a lot of their products and have reviewed a lot, as ...  Read the complete review

It has been some time since I have reviewed anything from Lush and, following my birthday Lush extravaganza at the start of 2009 (see reviews 'I am H-A-P-P-Y; This little piggy went oooooooh; and Giving it lip), I have become quite the addict. I thought it was about time I got around to sharing some of my experiences of them with you. I'm kicking off with one of my favorite products from the whole Lush range; coalface soap. I made my first purchase of coalface soap during a particularly low lunchtime in June of this year. It was one of those awful days at work, the kind where you just feel miserable; like you are wading through mud. Try as you might, you get ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Lush Coalface: £4 for a date with a scrubber! (1439 words)

Having used the Neutrogena Cleanser for some months now I need to buy some new pads for it and my local Superdrug didn't have any, so I needed something else to use in its place and with nothing taking my fancy I headed to Lush. Lush have an array of cleansers and whilst most people would think they came in squeezy tubes, Lush have decided that actually they don't have to and they have made some solid cleansers which have the bar of soap look about them, but naturally as they are made by Lush they are much more exciting, well for me they are anyway. So what is a cleanser and why do I need one? A cleanser is a facial care product that is used to ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Who needs diamonds anyway? (2386 words)

You know there's a saying (well there are several variations but here is the one that seems to fit best): "What's mine is mine, and what's yours is ours". I don't mean to sound selfish there but that just seems to be how things have worked out. What ever money my boyfriend has left after the 'essentials' at the end of the month is spent on things that are for us both like nights out or takeaways. This is his choice I might add. Whatever money I have left over does go towards some nights out and takeaways but also goes towards, as you might have noticed, beauty products. I try to let it go as unnoticed as possible (apart from obviously, in this case, declaring ...  Read the complete review

Though I've by no means got acne, I happen to think my skin can get fairly spotty, so I've tried a number of things to get rid of them. Recently this seems to have worked miracles and my spots have decreased rapidly in number - though it's also as a result of the vast amounts of water I've been drinking, this fantastic coalface skincare soap from Lush has done wonders, too. Who are Lush? Lush are, as they call themselves, the fresh handmade cosmetics company. They seem to have a base pretty much everywhere, and yet they still manage to pull off a down-to-earth, friendly and small image. And for a company like this, making homemade soap and the like, ...  Read the complete review
