Advantages: exfoliates
Disadvantages: can b a bit harsh and drying
I bought this facial cleanser as I wanted a cleanser that I could use quickly and easily as I had previously found some of the other Lush cleansers to be a bit messy and time consuming. My theory was that I could simply wipe the bar over my face and job done- well kind of!
So this bar contains ground up charcoal which is very good for the skin apparently helping to absorb excess sebum. The granules also act as an exfoliater too. The other ingredients include skin softening liquorice root. The smell of the liquorice and charcoal comes through quite strongly in this product and its not a smell I love but I figure if it works thats the main thing, however I will be trying a fresh farmacy as well in case that smells or work better!
So what does it feel like? Well it is a pretty rough facial bar and can leave my skin feeling a bit dry. You also have to make sure that you clean off all the charocoal or you will be left with a lovely back smear across your face! I have only been using this bar for a few days so can't comment too much on its spot zapping abilities, so far I wouldn't say it was fantastic or awful, for comparisons sake though i will say that I prefer how Angels on bare skin leaves my skin feeling- a lot softer and cleaner. Whereas coalface feels harsher and tighter.
So will I be buying this again??? To be honest I think not. I'm not sure its the one for me- which isn't great as i have a massive lump of the stuff to get through you win some you lose some though!
Summary: A good exfoliater for oily skin
