Advantages: Really soothes the skin

Disadvantages: Stinks!

As I suffer from quite dry and sensitive skin it can react quite easily to products, so actually finding a product which it suits is quite difficult. Some products for sensitive skin include a lot of tea tree oil which can be a bit too harsh yet others don't contain any soothing products whatsoever. I'm finding more and more that to treat my skin (especially on a weekend or after a hard day at work) is by going to more expensive brands such as Lush. Unfortunately the face masks you get in the supermarket are so awful that they are probably worse for your skin!

Lush do a whole range of face masks (and foot masks) which are generally aimed at specific skin types which is great as you know which ones are suited to your own skin and which ones to avoid. Rather than trying the whole lot and spending a fortune!

One I have recently tried is Cosmetic Warrior, it was originally discontinued in 2001 but brought back as a bio fresh product. Apparently it is ideal for acne sufferers as well as people who have sensitive skin. This mask leaves your complexion bright, firm and squeaky clean, thanks to cleansing grapes, antibacterial garlic, astringent tea tree, and pore-closing eggs. This is a real potent combo but you can probably guess that it wasn't concocted with a friendly fragrance and consistency in mind. It is known for people to eat raw garlic daily to prevent spots and bad skin and cut it thinly and put it onto a meal once a day. Yes I do like my fair share if garlic but I think that is a bit extreme!

Depending on the handmade batch your mask happens to come from, Cosmetic
Warrior can be substantially thick and reek of full-on garlic or it can be grossly watery and reek of a cover-up job that reminds you of a damp musty cellar. Pleasant! When I bought mine there seemed to be a wide choice of colour shades to choose from! I opted for quite a thick consistency which was yellow in colour. Just remember that the face masks have an extra short shelf life so when you buy try and use it the same day.

The face mask is easy to apply, its basic general knowledge, apply a little at a time and try to work from your forehead down. Don't try to put the whole mask on in one go, if you've put enough on to cover your face just leave the rest in the tub as trying to apply the rest will just cause an unnecessary mess. As the mask dries, the scent fades to tolerable, enabling you to focus on the wonderful tightening effect it's having on your skin. Please note however the once tolerable scent soon comes back once you come to wash it off!

I found that after use the scent fortunately does not stay on the skin! Hoorah! However you are left with amazingly tight skin which feels incredibly cool and refreshed with a slight tingly sensation! I would probably use this one an evening and would hold off until the morning to apply a moisturizer as you don't want to clog up your newly clean pores!

What Lush says:-

A superhero face mask to combat spots, cleanse dirt and calm and soothe all troubled skins.
Antiseptic fresh garlic and tea tree essential oil, reinforced with deep cleansing kaolin and fresh grapes, are aided by softening honey and free range eggs. Apply to clean skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave for five to ten minutes, then rinse away with warm water. Keep chilled.

Cosmetic Warrior costs £6.31 for a small tub however don't let the price put you off as this product is definitely worth it. Just make sure you hold your nose, while applying! But I can forgive this face mask of it's scent because it's cleansing properties are superb.

Summary: A great face mask
