... - it feels like mousse as you apply it and it's quite an odd sensation - but worth it. My boyfriend screamed when he saw me and commented that I looked like I'd rubbed poo over my face. He had a point, but I didn't let that deter me. I sat with it on my face for the usual 10 minutes then went and rubbed it off with wet hands in circular motions. I have to say,I knew in my heart of hearts that this wouldn't do much for my skin - it would have been too good to be true. So,I wasn't too disapointed with the minimal di...more

Crowned Review Lush Cupcake: Chocolate Skin (1268 words)

During my teens and twenties my beauty regime was always a bit hit and miss. Very rarely did I remove make up at the end of a night out and cleansing, toning and all the other important things took place if and when I could be bothered. As I?ve got older I?ve changed although it?s always been difficult for me to find products that don?t irritate my sensitive skin or bring me out in huge red blotches or spots and I have consequently spent hundreds of pounds on finding the perfect range to suit me. A couple of years ago I discovered Lush products and have never looked back although I have only recently begun using ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A great chocolate treat for your face! (362 words)

This face mask has to be my favourite of all the pots-of-wonder you can find in Lush 's face mask counter. Being quite prone to spots and the odd breakout, it's perfect my skin type, but at the same time doesn't irritate it which lots of other face-masks seem to do. It's quite pricey (the website now says £6.45 for 75g, which has gone up since I last bought it a month ago!), but you can get about 4, maybe 5 if you use less, uses out of each pot, which makes it sound a little better at just over £1.50ish per use. The rhassoul mud works as a deep cleanser, and helps to get rid of excess oils on the skin as well as soothing any blemishes. The cocoa powder gives ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Lush Cupcake: A chocoholics dream! (996 words)

Most recently, I've been focused on sampling Lush's skin care items. One of the most interesting products that the company makes is the Bio-Fresh Face Mask. I visited my now nearest store in Taunton (I do miss the Bath store!) shop earlier this month and brought home three different fresh face masks (this does seem a little excessive!), including Cupcake. The facemasks are Lush's fabulous hand-made Bio-Fresh masks. As the name implies, there's nothing artificial about these masks. They're freshly made with natural ingredients and as a result, do have a limited shelf life, typically about 3 weeks. They also should be refrigerated. If you don't think you'd ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review 7 minutes in heaven....but chocolate. on my face. (1060 words)

If you read my last beauty product review, then you'll know about my craziness with Lush, but if not, this is what happened. I visited 4 times this week (once with AmyAmy, a close friend of mine and fellow dooyoo-er), in this time I spent over £80, and can finally admit that I need to go to lush-a-holics anonymous - not that I want to stop with the wonderful products I treat myself and my friends to. One of the products that came in my £80 stash was the Cupcake Fresh Face Mask. This is one product that I've always wanted to try, but was wary because they were charging £7 for a tub of something that I didn't know would work with my skin, but after umm-ing and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Lush Cupcake: Smother your face with a chocolate cupcake. (891 words)

I have always been quite interested when looking at Lush's Fresh Face masks in their stores. They sound very nice with lots of interesting ingredients. I tried Cosmetic Goddess first, and then in the recent Lush promotion 'Night in for 2 for £10' I recieved the Cupcake fresh face mask after a recommendation from Lush assistant. The Cupcake fresh face mask is aimed at oily combination skins which are prone to breakouts. Lush claim this face will remove excess oil and calm any breakouts. This sounded perfect for my blemish prone skin, and I was very interested by the phrase used by Lush for this... 'Chocolate heaven for oily and teenage skin.' Whilst I'm ...  Read the complete review
