Lush Cupcake Fresh Facial Mask
I have used this product loads and it is one of my all time favourite Fresh Facial Masks from Lush. Cupcake facial mask smells just like its name in the fact that it is heavy chocolate fragranced and looks slightly like a lump of chocolate (or a large poo depending on how you look at it.)
I paid £$.95pence for this clear plastic pot of the product and in my findings you will get around 5 to 6 applications to your face (depending on how large your face it! And how thickly you spread it on!) Now I tend not too apply the facial mask too thickly otherwise it doesn’t dry properly and you end up with part that have dried and parts that are still sticky.
You have to apply the mask to a clean face so I always cleanse and tone before applying a thin layer to my skin. The advised time to leave the product on is for around 5 to 10 minutes but I maybe would leave it on for a further 5 or so minutes to make sure the face mask has totally dried all over.
The idea is then to get a flannel (preferably a dark coloured one to save on the stains left on white flannels which do not look very good but will come out in a hot wash) get a little soap into the flannel and begin to remove the facial mask by circular motions rubbing the product in and off as you go.
The facemask comes off easily and smells divine! I love this particular smell of chocolate although I would say that it doesn’t really smell like Cadburys dairy milk but it sure does have a sweet smelling aroma, which I find pleasant to the nose. The mask dries well onto the face and doesn’t make the skin feel overly tight like some facial masks do. Taking the facemask off is easy if you have a damp enough flannel and also the touch of soap really does help the process.
After taking the mask off, my skin always feels so smooth and soft and looks in a much better condition. For the first half and hour my skin may appear a little red but once that has gone down the appearance of the skin really does seem a lot fresher and more vibrant. The aroma of chocolate doesn’t really linger around on the skin for too long which is good otherwise it would mingle with the aroma of my perfume.
For the price I certainly think this Cupcake facial mask is well worth a try for anyone. The smell of chocolate really is appealing and the fact that the mask works so well on improving the skin appearance and feel is the major attraction point. I am totally in love with all Lush products and this one is no exception. I really and truly would recommend it to all (even my fella likes a facial from time to time!)
Summary: a great facial mask
