Advantages: Smells amazingly fruity and gorgeous, moisturising

Disadvantages: can be a little greasy

I do love Lush's massage bars, and with the exception, perhaps, of the now discontinued Nutts bar, I have really loved them all. The latest I am to use is the Each Peach bar - one that was bought quite a while back, but somehow got relegated in favour of other body moisturisers.

For those who are not familiar with Lush and their products, firstly I will explain the concept of a massage bar. Basically it's a solid bar made from butters (such as Shea and cocoa - not Lurpak and Kerrygold!) and essential oils. This bar when warmed on the skin melts down to give a sort of body oil and is fabulous for giving massages, and has the added benefit of moisturising the skin at the same time.

Each Peach is oval shaped (to fit into the Lush massage bar tins you can get) and has a pattern of flowers moulded into the top. It's a creamy almost yellowy colour and although it's not the most exciting massage bar to look at, the flower design means it's not the most boring one in the range (Mange Too and Therapy, I am talking about you!).

Now once upon a time I did actually use these bars for giving and receiving massages. Now however, I use them as a sort of body moisturiser for my legs. Massaging the skin is supposed to stimulate the lymph glands and help reduce cellulite, and this is where the massage bars come in handy! The fact that they moisturise and keep my dry skin supple is merely an added bonus!

You may be forgiven for thinking that Each Peach is peach scented. In fact you may also be forgiven for thinking it was pear scented as it's full name is 'Each Peach (and two's a pair)' and yes, I know that's pair as in two, not pear as in fruit. The scent of the bar, however is neither. This one contains Shea butter, cocoa butter, avocado butter and mango kernel butter to give a yummy smelling, moisturising base, as well as lime oil, sweet orange oil, mandarin oil (supposedly good for stretch marks by the way) and grapefruit oil, which combine to give a gorgeous fruity scent. Being a lover of anything citrus-smelling, this instantly appealed to me and I find the scent very uplifting.

To use, you can warm the bar up either in your hands or by massaging directly onto the skin. I find it works better (not to mention it's quicker) to warm it in your hands first. This starts to melt the oils down so that you can begin to massage the product into your skin. I would be warned - this one seems to melt quite quickly, so don't rub it over your skin too much or you'll end up with an oil slick that can't be absorbed. Less really is more with these products.

You will find that the oils stay on the surface of the skin for quite a while, and this allows you to be able to massage them in thoroughly without having to top up with more product. The disadvantage here, is that if you are using this as a moisturiser you do have to wait around for a while, whilst the product absorbs, and it can mean having to wait before getting dressed too, otherwise you may find your clothes sticking.

The gorgeous scent of this product lingers on the skin for some time, but isn't as strong a scent as some of the others I've used, such as Fever. Despite being quite oily, I don't find that this congests my skin in any way, and I've never experienced breakouts after using this, just soft, supple and moisturised skin.

The Each Peach bar costs £4.40 and is available from Lush stores or online at www.lush.co.uk

I'm very pleased with the Each Peach bar - it has a yummy citrussy fragrance which should appeal to both men and women, as well as being very moisturising but not too oily. Each Peach certainly gets my vote!!

Summary: Lovely Lush!

The fragrance sounds nice but I'm not keen on the massage bars.

Thanks for that - I always thought this would smell peachy and this put me off big way. I might try this, though Therapy is my all time favourite, with Amazonian being close second.
