Advantages: makes skin feel fresh, smells gorgeous
Disadvantages: expiry date, it may trigger Lush addiction
I recently visited my nearest Lush store (which doesn?t happen very often) on a binge shopping spree. I?m feeling rather ill at the moment, too many late nights- mostly my own fault, so decided to cheer myself up by buying some new Lush products. I?d never heard of Lush Enzynamite before let alone seen it but the name caught my eye. When I saw the name vague memories of Biology lessons on Enzymes haunted me but I also recalled hearing friends talk about facial enzyme treatments that they had had done so I decided to buy some to see if it would perk up my complexion. To be honest I didn?t really pay much attention to what the product would do, simply that it was a facial cleanser, but I guessed it had something to do with enzymes so I thought I?d add it to the rest of my basket. The product comes in a black tub with the Lush logo, name, ingredients and instructions on it. There is also a best before date because Lush use fresh ingredients in their recipes so they will ?go off? a while after the date on the tub. The product contains fresh pineapple, lime and papaya to exfoliate and get rid of dead skin cells so when you wash it off skin is brighter and fresh. I didn?t know much about the product which is unlike me buying something that I?ve never heard of before, so I visited the Lush website lush.co.uk to find out more about it. I learnt here that it was for young oily skin and that it was great for black skin. Well my skin isn?t really oily, only occasionally and I?m white so the product wasn?t exactly designed for me but they said it was an effective exfoliating and cleansing treatment so I thought I?d use it anyway. On opening the tub you are faced with something that doesn?t look dissimilar to gruel but thankfully it smells gorgeous. You can definitely smell the pineappl
e and oranges in it, really fresh and fruity. I could also smell some other citrus scent. It contains papaya but I couldn?t say I actually smelt this in it seeing but seeing as though papaya doesn?t actually smell very strong that was hardly surprising. On applying the cleanser it feels quite smooth with small pieces of wheat germ- the exfoliant in it. When you massage it over the skin it smells heavenly like most Lush products and actually feels like it?s doing some good. After washing it off my skin certainly felt thoroughly cleansed so it would be great if you do have oily skin or if you fancy a good exfoliating treatment, and I could still smell those fabulous fruits. The website stated to use every other day until the pot runs out and then wait two to three weeks before starting another one. Seeing as though I don?t have oily skin I thought it would be best to only use it once a week so I have only used it once so far. I think it would definitely be suitable for oily skins that need a thorough cleansing but it doesn?t leave your skin tight at all. I actually decided not to moisturise after using it because my skin didn?t feel like it needed it. If you don?t have oily or black skin then you could still use it occasionally like me if you fancy a good exfoliation. However Lush do other products specifically designed for other skin types so I think I will try one of those next time as I love trying new products anyway. Enzynamite costs £5.00 for 100g which is pretty good value I reckon especially if you?re not using it every other day because it will last longer. If you want to find out more or browse through other products visit the Lush website and you can find out about all of them there. Overall a very good performance from a product that does resemble gruel, remember appearance isn?t everything.
Like most of Lush?s products it doesn?t look that great but is really effective. I?m not sure about the enzymes in it, I guess that it is a bit scientific so goes completely above my head but I do know that it leaves your skin looking at least a bit better than when you put it on! Thanks for reading!
