Advantages: Natural, value for money (if it actually worked on me)

Disadvantages: made my skin worse! red, sensitive and flaky

So, I was having a bit of a bad skin day. Ok ok, a bad skin month. You know the sort - oily skin, spots, a bit red. I'd had enough of the conventional, chemical-ridden gloop stocked at the likes of Boots. I wanted something natural, something that didn't irritate and certainly wouldn't make my skin any worse. So, I headed for Lush. And boy, was that a mistake!

It's hard not to feel attracted to Lush. With their dainty, quaint little shops inviting you in with tantalising smells and warm, friendly staff.Walking in, I was confident I'd find something perfect for me. Having already read the 'Lush Times' and several reviews on their 'Most Wanted' Fresh Farmacy Bar, I figured this was the one for me. I must admit it sounded impresssive, and somewhat delicious; 'soft, pink, calamine and chamomile cleanser'. It boasts ingredients such as 'rose absolute' and 'supremely soothing decoction of elderflowers'. At £3.95 for 100g, it seemed reasonbale too. Surely, I couldn't go wrong?

I used the bar immediately, anticipating great things. The bar is bascially a block of baby pink soap, with some sort of seaweed on the top. In fact, it looks quite pretty. I was advised to 'use it just like a soap; wash and rinse'. So there i was, gently massaging pink froth in my face, when I suddenly felt my face tightening. It felt stiff, and a little tingly. This surprised me, as the newspaper stated it's perfect for those who are 'allergic to almost everything'. But that's the thing; I wasn't. A little sensitive maybe, but really nothing major. Still, I had faith in Lush, so I continued to use the bar for a few more days. However, by the third day, the skin around my mouth was red raw, and it was flaking. I stopped using immediately, and to be honest was pretty disappointed. My skin was worse than before. I wouldn't have minded, but here they were claiming it was perfect for sensitive skin! So, the next time I was in Leeds I returned it. Admittedly, it did impress me that I got a full refund. I think I'll be sticking to Boots from now on.

Summary: despite promising to calm skin, it aggravated it

I hae very sensitive skin that reacts to almost everything and I love this soap, I wonder if you've got an allergy to one of the ingredients or something.....at least you got a refund though.

I wanted to try this, but I'm not so sure now! I have a bar of babyface in the cupboard, I guess I'll see what that's like first.
