Advantages: Smells lovely (in my opinon anyway)
Disadvantages: none that I can think of
In an effort to combat my blemishes and pay less then I did for my last facial skincare regime products (Liz Earle), I headed down to Lush to check out this facial soap. I read some great reviews of it on dooyoo and so thought I would add in my thoughts as well.
I have to say it no longer looks like the above picture, I was informed that they changed how it looked recently. It is now a very very pale lavender colour, it no longer has those orange shavings on top either. For some reason on the website it is shown as being pink, but this isn't the case in store. The soap is shaped like slices of cake, in a triangular shape with a curved end. There are also a few little specs of something in the soap, I am not sure what they are, I think they may be pieces of dried lavender. Regardless they make the soap a good gentle exfoliant in my opinion although this is not something that Lush state the product is designed to do.
I paid £5.11 for my piece, which was rather large and I had to cut it in two so that I could use it easily. This is good because it means when the current piece runs out I have a backup! Although I have been using the current piece for two weeks now morning and night and it is not much smaller then when I bought it so I imagine this product is very long lasting.
The biggest scent I notice is the lavender, which I love so this isn't a problem for me, however if you dislike the smell of lavender then you may not like this facial soap! Other included ingredients are tea tree oil, which is antibacterial, calamine and chamomile which are both soothing for the skin and rose essential oils to calm the skin. A full list of ingredients can be found at Lush.co.uk
To use the soap, simply wet your hands and then rub together with the soap, this creates a few bubbles, then use your hands to wash your face as normal. I would recommend using only a little of this product as despite the fact that only a few bubbles are made it is doing its job. In regards to storage, I use an empty fresh facial mask container so that they soap doesn't leave any residue on the side of the shower/bath.
So far I have found this product does seem to calm my skin and has reduced by blemishes, although I still suffer on my chin so I am giving it more time to work on that area! I will give it a 5/5 because I think it is a great facial soap, with an exfoliant property, in my opinion anyway! It also gives, as many other reviewers have stated, that squeaky clean feeling! Just be sure ot follow up with a toner/toner tab and moisturiser to ensure your face is throughly cared for. Products which I find compliment this soap are the tea tree toner tabs and the vanishing cream moisturiser, all from Lush.
This is also posted on other websites.
Summary: A lovely cleansing facial soap!
