Advantages: light, gentle, lovely

Disadvantages: expensive

It took me a while to get persuaded to try any of the Lush moisturisers as they tend to be expensive and this is THE most expensive one retailing at around £35 per pot (but usually available on eBay for about £20).

Luckily, I did get a small sample pot in one of the Lush lots I bought and I loved it - enough to buy another pot (but on eBay for £20, not in a Lush shop), and then managed to bag two pots in their Christmas promotion when you could choose any one of their last years' products for every £20 spent in store.

Lush say: "Makes all skin types feel light, carefree and happy. (...) Its magical ability to melt into your skin is unmatched, bringing with it six gorgeous organic oils and butters (...) the lovely emollient oils are combined with fresh fruit to give you a soft, matte feeling, perfect for daytime. It adapts itself to suit every kind of skin".

I totally agree with every word of the above. It's a fantastic cream, really light but actually very moisturising too. It goes on beautifully, even the feeling on your face as you apply it is pleasant: both soothing and refreshing if such a thing is possible. It doesn't pull the skin, and the matte effect is quite subtle. The skin is soft, smooth and - yes - gorgeous.

I am fast approaching middle age and my skin is normal with an occasional tendency to dryness and an odd slightly greasy patch only. Gorgeous deals with all of that admirably but I would have been happy to use it when I was younger too. I am not sure if it would work for a truly dry, older skin though, as I feel that even for my skin I need to apply quite a lot: two or three applications to get right hydration levels.

Its consistency is little bit too watery for me, I'd rather have it thicker (I left one pot open for a while and some of the water evaporated making for thicker cream that just needed one application) but i think this is what makes it suitable for many skin types.

I don't normally care for the scent of creams, but Gorgeous has a lovely smell, subtly floral, with hints of rose and neroli, even though there is actually no rose on the ingredient list.

Ideally I would use it for daytime only, with a slightly heavier moisturiser for the night (Lush's Celestial or Body Shop's Wise Woman are good); but a younger person could easily use it for both day and night.

I am still not sure whether it is actually worth its full RRP of £35, but at around £20 (eBay!) it is highly recommended.

I post ingredient lists for cosmetics now as I tend to always read those for all bath and cream products I buy (and it has NOTHING to do with allergies as I am not allergic to anything that's used in cosmetics). There are two reasons:

(1) Lush take products off their website (this is not available now) but there is thriving eBay market in Lush (I hesitate to call it second hand) so you can possibly get some this way.
(2) I like to know what exactly essential oils are included so other people might also want to know .

Ingredients:

Orange Blossom Honey Water (Citrus Aurantium dulcis), Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Olea europaea), Stearic Acid, Cold Pressed Organic Evening Primrose Oil (Oenothera biennis), Cold Pressed Organic Avocado Oil (Persea gratissima), Glycerine, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera), Fresh Organic Lemon Juice (Citrus limonum), Cold Pressed Wheatgerm Oil (Triticum vulgare), Fresh Organic Orange Juice (Citrus Aurantium dulcis), Cold Pressed Grape seed Oil (Vitis vinifera), Fresh Pineapple Juice (Ananas sativus), Orange Flower Absolute (Citrus Aurantium amara), Neroli Oil (Citrus Aurantium amara), Myrrh Resinoid (Commiphora myrrha), Triethanolamine, Cetearyl Alcohol, *Geraniol, *Farnesol, *Limonene, *Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal, Perfume, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

* Occurs naturally in Essential Oils

Summary: highly recommended but get it cheaper
