Advantages: Clears up spots well!

Disadvantages: Can be drying

Recently I have been suffering really badly with breakouts of spots, probably to do with the fact I work with children so lots of germs touch my face I guess. As such I needed to find something that was antibacterial and gentle on skin so that I could combat this. When I went into Lush the store assistant recommended I try this Grease Lightning gel, so I purchased it and am subsequently very pleased.

I have been using the product for over two weeks now and the spots have cleared up really well and lots of new ones have not broken out. The one or two which have begun to appear have quickly subsided after I used this product on them. I use this product in two ways; firstly I apply it directly onto spots in the morning and before bed in order to kill any bacteria and help combat the spots. I also use it as an all over face product, once I have carried out my cleanse, tone, moisturise routine I then apply a thin layer of this to my entire face, avoiding the eye area, before applying make up. I always moisturise first as otherwise this product can be drying, because it is meant to dry out spots. The assistant at Lush actually recommnded I use it for this purpose also, as he said it helps prevents breakouts by killing bacteria on the skins surface. The bottle states that the product has witch hazel to help zap spots and aloe vera to soothe the skin. The main ingredient however is tea tree, known for its antibacterial and spot fighting properties! There are a few other ingredients, such as rosemary, thyme, sea water and lavender juice. The lavender is the most dominating smell I pick out and so I quite like the smell of the product. I would like to point out that although I have sensitive skin I have not had a problem with this product as all the ingreddients are very gentle.

The gel comes in a small black bottle with a pump lid, it holds 45g worth of product. As with many Lush products there is a sell by date with this product, indicated by a sticker on the bottle, however the life span for mine is a year so it is great because it will be used up before then! The product also does not need to be stored in the fridge like other Lush products.
The product retails at £4.95 on the website (lush.co.uk) and can be bought from the website or a freestanding store.

I am giving this product 5/5 as it has worked wonders for me!

Summary: A great product from Lush, yet again!
