Advantages: nice-looking tub

Disadvantages: greasy, sits on skin, smells yukky, seems to clog pores & hard to remove

My daughters & I have tried quite a number of Lush products thanks to the generosity of my brother's great idea to buy us all Lush Vouchers for the past few Christmases! On the whole we've been really pleased with the items we've chosen but I have to say that this Imperialus 'majestic moisturiser' is awful stuff.

The pot we have is black plastic & is 45g (not as shown in the picture), has an unscrew/screw on lid & is clearly marked with a short description on the lid.

When you open it the smell hits you - it reminds me of a very strong camomile lotion & it lingers for ages when you apply to the skin which I found to be quite unpleasant.

The moisturiser itself is a dirty pink colour but it's a good consistency when you dip your finger in. Unfortunately though I didn't find it as easy as some to apply - it needed working into the skin quite a lot because it just seemed to settle on the surface. Although I only applied a little I found that it felt greasy & thick & I felt it was clogging the pores on my face.

It claims on the tub to be 'good for faces that are oily in places & dry in others or a troublesome T-zone' - my daughters & I have a combination of skin types but none of us liked this Imperialus nor felt it was good for our faces.

I'm not sure where the camomile smell comes from as according to the ingredients it contains lavender, orange flowers & tiger lillies - strange?

Although I persevered with this moisturiser for a while I'm afraid it didn't work for me as I never achieved the 'well balanced skin' I was promised on the tub. I found it too heavy, left a greasy residue, wasn't easy to remove, make-up didn't sit well on top & the smell was offputting.

My daughters obviously have much younger skin than myself but they were not impressed either so it's one of the very few Lush products that will actually be going in the bin I'm afraid.

Summary: one of the few Lush products we don't like
