Advantages: Vegan, smells nice.

Disadvantages: Consistancy varies loads.

This is one item that I have a few of as it was a very common product in the after Christmas lush goody bags and in the gift boxes. I have been meaning to write about this product since then, but seems I still have about 4 lip balms left I thought I would write it anyway!

At Christmas this lip balm was £4.40, the same as all the others, but like I mentioned, it was a very common item in the 'sales' so I never actually paid full price for one. It is in a small tin about the size of a 50p piece.

This lip balm is made by Lush and was the only vegan lip balm at the time which is a good thing (although a new vegan one is coming out soon!). The title of the balm hints at the fact it will taste/smell like cake. To me, I think it smells like a boozy fruit cake, but it certainly doesn't taste like one. It honestly does taste foul until you get used to it!

The texture of it is nice, it hasn't dried out like all my other Lush lip balms, but I have noticed the texture varies a lot between the ones that I have. 2 of them are very oily, so much so that the oil sits on top of the balm (I think these ones taste the worst!), 2 of them are very hard and 2 are quite a lot softer. There aren't any huge problems with this, it's only if you prefer a certain one there may be a problem.

Applying it is very easy, just rub your finger onto it gently and smooth onto your lips. I found that it left my lips feeling moisturised but without feeling like an oil slick or making them really glossy. The moisturised feeling lasted for 3-4 hours before I needed to reapply - this was in the winter so I think that is pretty good going!

I would recommend this lip balm, however there are better ones out there and a lot of people don't like the taste. This one is very much like Marmite - you either love it or hate it!

Summary: You'll love it or hate it.
