Advantages: Works!!!
Disadvantages: Can seem pricey
I have been writing lots of reviews recentley on Lush products as I have been shopping there for a few years now and believe that they deserve some reviews!
I got this lip balm around christmas because of the name and smell making me feel all christmassy!
I love this as unlike some other lip balms I have used this one actually works to soothe and moisturises your lips!
What is it?
Well it is basically what it says it is. A lip balm in 'LET THEM EAT CAKE' flavour. It is not to be mistaken for solid lip glosses which I know that a few people have done.
Where can you buy it?
As it is a Lush product it is only purchasable from Lush. You can purchase in store and online. This is sometimes only avaliable at christmas as it is there christmas lip balm.
Price:
As with most Lush products it is quite expensive, but if it works then I am pretty sure it is worth it! It costs around £4.63, which I know it almost double the price of other ones, but in my eyes it is definitley worth it!
Packaging:
This lip balm comes in a lovely little and appealing metal silver pot. You screw to open and screw to shut as it is a fresh hand made product and this is done to protect the freshness. This makes it easy to pop in your hand bag or pocket because of the small and compact size!
As it is fresh it also has a use by date, which is usually about or within a year, which will be stamped on the tin or there may be a sticker put onto it.
My view:
When you first look at it, it isn't too appealing, it is a clearish colour with a very pale yellow hint to it. It also looks quite 'hard' and looks like it will be difficult to apply and that it will break into bits to apply!
As soon as you open it, it just reminds me of christmas cake straight away, it has a very strong smell which I simply love! The reason of this is because it contains currants, sultanas, raisins, lemon, orange peel, sherry and vanilla! Although it mainly smells of christmas cake you can also definietley smell the vanilla! I just want to eat it, it smells so good, although I wouldn't reccomend this!
Upon applying it feels lovely and smooth and light. Once it has been applied it doesn't get heavier or sticky like some other lip balms do, you only need a very thin layer of this to cover the whole of your lips.
You can feel it soaking into your lips and feels really smooth and moisturising. Even though you only apply just a thin layer you don't need to apply that often, I reapply between 1 and half hours to two hours!
It is also has a lovely shiny, glossy finish which means that you may not even need to apply another gloss or anything else over the top, unless you want colour!
After about a week or so you can really begin to notice the difference, if you just run your finger along your lips they feel loveely and plump and so soft and smooth. I suffer from dry and chapped lips and this has REALLY helped to improve them, like most Lush products it is another one that works and I WILL return to!
Mine has lasted me just under a year which I am very happy with and under £5 for around a year is definitley worth the money for me!
Overall I would definitley reccomend this to anyone whether you have nice and soft lips and just want to retain or whether like me you suffer with your lips and need a quick fix!
Try it!
