Advantages: It Works!, Lasts Ages, Multi-purpose
Disadvantages: Possible New Tin
Lip Service is a bit unconventional for a lip balm, for starters it’s quite solid (especially when it’s a cool day), not a gloopy sticky mess like some lip balms are. The second thing that sets this apart from other lip balm sis that it does actually work. Believe me when I say that I was fed up of trying all the lip balms under the sun without success, in fact some actually made my lips worse.
The Stuff inside:-
Lots of moisturising ingredients like cocoa and shea butter, olive and apricot kernel oil. Having bought cocoa butter before I think it’s this and the shea butter that give it’s quite solid but meltingly gorgeous consistency.
It has Marigold Water and Tangerine oil in it as well which give it a nice smell which isn’t overpowering at all.
The Good Stuff:-
Whereas it might seem that the solid consistency of this balm would be a negative aspect of this product, I wouldn’t say it was. Because of this you can put it on your lips without much mess, any product left on you finger you can just rub in and it lasts for ages (both the whole pot and the amount you put on your lips). When I use it I rub in a small amount, leave it to melt in and then put on a bit more about 30mins later, this lasts for ages, usually until I have a hot drink or a meal. Also, as well as making your lips feel lovely and soft it also leaves a slight shine on them to highlight how kissable they actually are.
In the product description for Lip Service they tell you that you can use it on your elbows, heels and cuticles to get rid of any particularly dry areas. I have used it on my elbows as they can get quite dry and rough and it works wonders, one application and they are fine for days.
The Bad Stuff:-
Until I went into a Lush shop recently I wouldn’t have said there was anything negative about Lip Service I even thought the price was reasonable because it lasts for so long. However, whilst I was there I noticed that there were pots of Lip Service that instead of being in the plastic pots with a black lid were in those horrid silver tins that the Chocolate Whipstick comes in and whilst I chocolate whipstick, the tins aren’t very user friendly and a bit small. (This is the only reason I’m not giving this product 5 Stars)
