I'm a lush addict - the store in Nottingham can be smelt streets away, and on the odd occasion when I have a bit of spare cash with which to treat myself, its one of the shops I often visit.

With winter coming soon, I know that any time soon my lips will begin to dry out and crack, so it was time to get stocked up with some new Lip Balm! What more excuse than that could I need to go and spend a little bit of money in Lush ?

**A Little About Lush**

Well, to be honest, I don't need to make any excuses - if you're a Lush fan already, you'll already know about Lush's great ethics - for those not familiar with Lush products, the copmpany were founded in 1994
selling handmade cosmetics made from all natural ingredients with no animal testing.

They have a whole range of products - shampoo, hair dye, shower gel, bubble bars and more, but essentially all you need to know is that the products are not tested on animals, are natural, and they use minimal packaging. Three cheers for green cosmetics and guilt free shopping.

** Back to the Balm**

I'd already tried on of Lush's other lip balms, Honey Trap - in fact, I'd been using it for the past three years ! It was about time I had a change, so instead of buying my usual, I had a look around at the various offerings, and selected 'Lip Service'

Well, it comes packaged in a little 10g tin, and upon opening it, the balm is a light white colour , and quite solid in the tin (especially on a cold day!). I just apply this with my finger - I scoop a little out of the tin on my finger, and gently rub it across my lips. Instantly it moisturised them and makes an instant difference to any dryness there, and leaves my lips feeling very soothed.

Now, it wouldn't be a lush product if it didn't have a fantastic smell to it - this contains amongst other things cocoa butter and tangerine oil, and it does have a fantastic slight citrus smell to it, as well as something lightly floral.

I find that when I applied this, provided that I didn't lick it off (which is quite hard to resist as it has a subtle sweet flavour to it that I really like) it would generally stay in put pretty well . Its also usable on other areas too - I've been using in on my elbows very sparingly as a bit of an experiment, and I must say it really has softened them up wonderfully.

However, I doubt I'll be continueing to use this on my elbows as it's not the cheapest product around, at over 4 quid a pot . The pot itself, a little tin, is a bit of a pain in the bum too , with the lid being quite hard to get on and off.

With that said, I do think this is a good product . I still think I much prefer Honey Trap on both flavour and scent, but for performance I do think this is the stronger balm - it moisturises fantastically, and keeps my lips feeling lovely and soft , which I suspect is down to the inclusion of shea butter, olive oil, and apricot kernel oil in the ingredients .

It is pricey - which is one of the biggest downsides of Lush products, but it works wonderfully .

4 stars!
