Advantages: Cleanser, good pre-shave soap, leaves the skin feeling soft and refreshed
Disadvantages: Makes you feel like a fragrant elderly lady relative, only available from Lush.
Picture the scene... Early morning, enter the bathroom and wash your face. Now for me,using the house favourite (Imperial Leather) and emerging from the bathroom with flaky skin and a face feeling taut like stretched canvas was a daily washing occurence. Not much fun,I bet you're thinking, well I found a way round this... This soap, from lush,is the only one that they'd recommend for washing the face with.It comes in a wedge shaped chunk of 100grams,which seems to last for ages.Fair enough,I thought, I'd give it a shot.It came through and I'd thought I'd try it out.First impression was good (I'll come to the drawback later),it softened the skin and didn't dry it out at all.It makes shaving a damn sight easier, the bristles tend to submit to the razor so much easier. It is claimed to be a cleansing bar,and it certainly does leave you feeling refreshed and awake. Now for the major drawback:It smells of roses.Yep,did you ever want to come up smelling of roses? (or violets?)well here's your chance.I smelt like my Gran after using this soap, which is not an insult, but we hardly share the same taste in fragrances.Right that's that done with,it's time for the ingredients: Ingredients ----------- Rose petal Infusion, Sodium Palm Kernelate, Glycerine, Almond Oil, Cocoa Butter, Perfume, Geranium Oil, Rose Absolute, Violet Leaf Absolute, Stearic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Triethanolamine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Tetrasodium EDTA, Methylparaben and Propylparaben. Right, well the Rose petal infusion, almond oil, cocoa butter and geranium oil are all fantastic for your skin, and tend to moisturise and cleanse it.These also don't leave dry, flaky and taut feeling skin/ Uses ---- It can be used in place of regular soap for washing of the face and body and it won't dry the skin out. It also makes a damn good cleanser as well as a good pre-shave wash for us blokeys. Availability
------------ It is only available from Lush web or mail order. To sum things up this is a great for those of us who like washing our faces with soap, without drying out our skins. Unfortunately (especially for blokes) it smells of old ladies, which can be a blow. I find it is worth trying,as I swear my skin is now in better condition than it was before. It seems to take ages to use up so this soap seems to be good value for money.
