... their other creations provide. This one does not tend to go as soft and squishy as some of the others with the beasty sandiness holding it all into position, so at least you do not get any real sloppiness or gunk from it. In summary if your skin is quite tough the scrubbing effect will no doubt benefit you, but for my poor skin it wasn't really suitable and I recommend sticking to the creamier style of soaps that Lush do, else your skin will suffer....more

Premium Review Lush Sandstone: Sandpapery but in a good way... (189 words)

This is one of those Lush offerings that you either love or hate. I picked it up after hearing good things about it's wonderous effects on peoples skin. This dosn't smell like anything to me,but my sense of smell is a bit...well,odd. It looks good - a nice rich brown sort of colour with faded bits within that look sort of like dollops of cream or something. Anyway,on to what it does ... Rubbing this on to wet skin feels like sandpapering yourself - my skin looked raw! Now,don't get me wrong about this - I have VERY soft, well looked after skin so the slightest scrub is amplified tenfold on my ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sandstone the soap, not the rock (670 words)

Recently, I've been performing in Little Shop of Horrors (we just finished last night, sadly) and instead of getting the usual 'Break A Leg' message with a large bouquet of flowers, my parents sent me some flowers and a Lush gift box. They know me well... In the gift box there were a few products I'd never tried, two that I already loved and one that I couldn't stand - thankfully my mum took that one from me. One of the ones I'd never tried before was Sandstone Soap... Lush say, "The exfoliating citrussy sand one. On the glorious beaches of Rio de Janeiro, stunning Brazilian babes (and their mothers) mix up sun tan oil with the fine sand and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Lush Sandstone: Scratch That! (490 words)

I was pleased to acquire a bar of this soap quite recently as I am a fan of Lush products in general. The picture above doesn't match the soap you will find in the shop today, although it still has the same name. It is a lighter, more lemony yellow mixed with a fair amount of sand. I do like the smell of lemons which I find to be an uplifting, sharp, clean scent, great for soap I would have thought. Unfortunately for some reason when I wash with this it reminds me of a harsh cleaning product like a bathroom or kitchen cleaner. I do have a lemon bathroom cleaner on the go at the moment which may be why, but other lemon scents such as essential oils or lemon ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Dusting Off On A Sandy Beach (470 words)

On what now seems to be my weekly shopping trip to Lush I decided that I needed to pick up some soap for the bathroom. So having stood there trying to decide for what must have been a good 5 minutes i picked up a bar of Lush Sandstone. The yellowy sandy appearance really appealed to me and so without any further delay I decided to give it a try. Upon picking up a bar I could detect a slightly scent of Citrus and this further reinforced my choice and I decided I should buy this one. The bar has changed considerably since the picture on the Dooyoo site. It is now a brighter colour that looks slightly similar to a sandy beach on a Sunny day. The bar is approx ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Buckets And Spades And Summer Days.(Lush Sandstone Soap) (868 words)

Sandstone is a rock which in geological terms has taken thousands and thousands of years to form from billions of grains of sand, so it is a wonderful example of nature which Lush have tried to replicate in their soap called Sandstone. I was actually given this as a sample by the staff in the shop last week when I was purchasing some bubble slices, and it is always a joy to be given an opportunity to try something which I may not have selected personally, as often these chances will introduce me to what goes on to become an old favourite. Lush make a lot of soaps and the shop itself displays them in their entirety, so they sit like giant icebergs ...  Read the complete review
