Advantages: Smells like Banoffee Pudding!
Disadvantages: Don't let it get too warm
Banana Custard is what the marketing description says, and I was pleased to discover it wasn't lying. Sympathy for the Skin is a very rich, thick body moisturiser, with organic bananas, vanilla, cocoa cutter, and lemon oil, amongst its ingredients. To me it sounded more like a cake recipie than a moisturiser, but LUSH did not disappoint...
Reviews on this one seem to be mixed, but I really love it - i have tried a few different LUSH moisturisers, but this one is my favorite. The smell is absolutely divine - it smells just like a very rich banoffee pudding to me, and I can smell it on my skin for absolutely ages after using it. At the same time, it is not overpowering, just a subtle hint of vanilla and banana which follows you around for the rest of the day.
You do not need to use loads of this to feel the effect - it soaks into the skn well, but not too quickly, so that a small amount goes a long way. I find it is particularly soothing after shaving, as the cocoa butter really calms my irritated skin down, and cools it off.
I do find that it leaves my skin feeling very soft, but if I want to use it on my face I have to use a good exfoliator and cleanser, or else it leaves my skin too greasy. I would also recommend being careful about where you store it - one pot came to grief when I left it on the windowsill in the bathroom - the sun came out and it got too hot, when I found it the oils had separated out from the liquid, leaving it practically useless.
Otherwise, this is a top-notch product; not the most expensive LUSH moisturiser, but certainly well worth every penny. Have I mentioned it smells like banoffee pudding?
Summary: My favorite LUSH moisturiser
