Lush Ultra bland Cleanser

It was only last year I found out about Lush and tried some of their great products. This is one of the more recent ones I have used and having come to the end of the tub I thought I would write down my experiences and fill you all in on them.

Lush ultra bland is a cleanser that claims to remove all traces of dirt, grime and especially makeup. It comes in a small black tub that contains around 45 grams of this creamy white looking product. The price is around £4.25 pence and this I think is reasonable for a top quality cleanser.

The product inside this cool looking black tub looks just like a load of greasy and to be totally honest I think that is pretty much what it is. The directions for use are to take a bit splodge of the cleanser on to a cotton wool pad and to apply thickly to the face and eye area. Then take another cotton wool pad and whilst rubbing the cleanser into the skin you are taking off all the dirt and grime from the face.

After having used this for a few months every single day I have found that this product really does what it says in taking everything off your face and leaving the skin feeling free of impurities and slightly moisturised. The product does work well in removing the makeup especially since I use waterproof mascara and this is often tricky to remove. However my skin is left feeling somewhat greasy to touch but once I have used the next step of my facial routine and toned my skin the greasiness is gone and my skin is left clean and nourished.

The amount that you have to use though is rather alarming and my one pot probably lasted for about a months worth of use, which is every day. I really did try to stretch this product to its utter limits and used every single last drop from the small black tub. I think for the price that you pay the product is lacking in quantity but certainly not any quality is lacking as it does work exceptionally well.

The only trouble is having also used Lush’s product the Baby Face Cleanser and I find for the slightly cheaper price you pay that that is a much better option. Baby Face seems to last longer than this ultra Bland cleanser along with costing less. The greasiness is not so heavy when using Baby face cleanser as I think the fact Baby Face comes in a bar form and Ultra Bland comes in a cream type consistency and therefore you use far more of the Ultra bland product than the baby face making it seem better for the money.

I don’t think that I will be buying this Ultra Bland Cleanser from Lush again as I think I will stick to using their Baby Face Cleanser bar. There is less packaging to throw away (saving on waste), it costs less, lasts longer and feels less greasy on the skin. Buy baby face cleanser from Lush if you are looking for a good cleanser.

Summary: a great cleanser but better one are out there
