Firstly let me start by saying that I am a big Lynx fan, I have used their deodorants and shower gels for years and they just keep getting better and better but their aftershaves I had never tried until recently believing that aftershaves in this sort of price range would not be at all good.

I got a box set from granny at Christmas as usual only this time instead of deodorant and shower gel the box contained deodorant and aftershave both of the Africa variety. Now Africa is one of Lynx oldest fragrances but still a very good one that I use amongst others regularly but as I say I had never tried the aftershave.

Just the other day as I readied myself for work i thought instead of using my expensive aftershaves for a sweaty day at work I would give the Lynx Africa stuff a try. Straight from the first splash I thought that this was a bad Idea and I have not changed my mind since.

On applying the aroma was very strong and the liquid felt very harsh on the freshly shaved skin, as the day wore on the scent never wore of which is usually a good thing with aftershaves but when they are as in your face and unpleasant as this one you will just be dying for it to tone down a bit but it never does.

Now I knew that this was never an aftershave that I would splash on for a night out but I saw no harm in it for work as I like the Africa scent but the scent from the deodorant are not only different scent wise but also in strength. The deodorant has a very nice sweet subtle scent whereas the aftershave is strong and overpowering whilst being nowhere near as sweet as the other Africa products.

All in all I would say keep up the good work with the other products Lynx but leave the aftershave market alone. Although the product is much more affordable than other aftershaves on the market it is clear why once you have used it. You can pick up a gift set of deodorant and aftershave for around £4.99, considering I don't own another aftershave that has cost me less than £25 a bottle that pretty much says it all doesn't it.
