I have used a variety of face masques from Montagne Jeunesse over the years, but had not tried this one. After reading the other reviews here, I thought that I would give it a try, as I love chocolate. I bought it in Boots for 99p, and it comes in a sachet containing 20g / 0.7oz.

The information on the sachet says that the masque is 'anti-stress', and will moisturise and hydrate the skin. It is suitable for normal, dry and T-Zone skin, and is 'deep pore cleansing'. My own skin is very sensitive and dry. I have also had rosacea since I was pregnant two years ago, so I am keen to find products that will help to calm down the redness. This chocolate face masque contains a lot of natural ingredients such as, Dead Sea Salt, Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter. The Dead Sea Salt is supposed to have skin healing properties, and Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter will moisturise the skin.

I applied the masque after washing my face with warm water only, as recommended on the sachet. There was quite a lot of the masque, so there was plenty to cover my face and neck. I left it on for around 15 minutes, at which point it was starting to dry. The recommended time to leave it on is 10-15 minutes. I rinsed it off with plenty of warm water, and then moisturised as usual. My face felt a lot softer afterwards, though it was still fairly red on my cheeks and forehead. The next morning the redness seemed to have reduced a little, which was a good sign, and there were no adverse reactions.

I would use this face masque again, as it seemed to help my skin, and it has a lovely chocolate smell that is apparent as soon as the sachet is opened. The information on the sachet recommends that is used weekly. Maybe with regular use the results would be even better.

Montagne Jeunesse do not test their products on animals, and they are approved by the BUAV and the Vegetarian Society.
