This won't make your pores smaller, but it will make them appear smaller. I used to have terrible yawning open pores so I started using the Neutrogena pore range, because everything else I've ever tried of theirs has been brilliant. With this, though, I got the impression it kind of glossed over the skin surface making pores look less gaping (it doesn't shrink them) - and after a few hours I would notice that my skin was really shiny, as if it was really oily. You can get a "pore refining mattifier" in the same range which sorts this out, but it's a shame to have to fork out for both products.

I used the pore-refining wash and toner for a bit, but they left my skin a bit chapped and raw - their "clear pore" toner is much better. My pores never closed up or disappeared altogether, and in the end I contacted the Neutrogena website to ask if this was a reasonable expectation. They admitted that pore size is determined by genetics, but there are things you can do to improve their appearance. Hence this cream.

Hint - if you contact the website with a question, pretend you live in the US - if you say you live in the UK they put you on to their UK site, who never get back to you! In the end I got sick of waiting for the UK lot and wrote to the USA site again - same name as before, same wording in the question, but I put a USA address and I got an answer back the next day. That was a year ago and the UK site still haven't replied to my question!
