Like the other reviewers here I find this a very good product to use after shaving. It can sting a bit when I apply it at first but it soon cools and soothes my face as it is meant to do.

I've tried a few cheaper, cream-type alternatives but they never seem to absorb into my skin properly and my family notice it. I've sometimes had them asking me if I've cut myself shaving - this has never happened with the Nivea! I always come back to it in the end.

The product was "Improved" a while ago with a new fragrance but I actually preferred the older one. It's still pretty subtle though and not particularly noticeable. This isn't meant as a criticism - I like it that way!

The only real drawback is the price, but at most supermarkets it is still under a fiver. I've seen it on Ebay, but with the heavy bottles this balm comes in the postage usually makes it uneconomic, unless you buy in bulk.
