"World's favourite moisturiser" so the blurb says. Even if it is not the world's favourite, it is certainly my favourite moisturiser. I have grown up with Nivea, it is the only skincare product my mother has ever used, my aunts use it and now my sister and I use it.

In my home there is a pot of Nivea on the window sill in the kitchen, a pot in my bedroom and a small pot in my hand bag. Never mind ensuring you always have a clean hankie with you I never go anywhere without having some Nivea to hand.

Nivea is not marketed as a facial product or a hand product or a body product, it is marketed as a moisturiser, "wherever skin needs care". I use it everyday on my face and throughout the day on my hands. With 3 small children to look after my hands are constantly in and out of water, therefore they need a bit of care and attention. I find Nivea is the only moisturiser that does not irritate my face, it is not too greasy, is easily absorbed and it does not have an overpowering perfume. Nivea is also strong enough to use on my hands without leaving a greasy residue. It is preservative free and "dermatologically approved."

Nivea comes in various sized containers, I mostly purchase the 200ml size priced around £2.73 to £3.50, currently £2.99 in Boots. I also carry a smaller 30ml container in my handbag. There is also a larger tub, but I rarely purchase it.

Nivea is definitely one item I would have to have with me if I was ever on a desert island!
