Disadvantages: Everything else
*Worst. Face wash. Ever?*
Some products are so awful that they deserve no stars and as the Dooyoo team don't seem to allow this, I'm awarding this terrible face wash one star - under duress! Like a suckless vacuum cleaner or a chocolate ladle, I can't see one possible use for Nivea For Men Sensitive Face Wash. Yes, the word suckless is invented.
*Even the fact that it was free doesn't absolve this shocker of its crimes against my face!*
I was given this face wash as part of a gift bag at Christmas and while I can't really complain about the cost, it retails at close to £5 on www.boots.com and other websites that sell toiletries and I strongly suspect that the vast majority of purchasers would be furious if they made the mistake of buying this.
The following are the claims of the manufacturer parried with my experience as a consumer:
'Soap and fragrance free'/It may be soap free, but it's certainly not fragrance free and the bouquet is reminiscent of a makeup removing wipe that's been bred with a used nappy.
'Thoroughly cleanses skin, removing dirt and excess oils'/Didn't lather, couldn't even find it on my palms after about a second, completely failed to remove dirt and actually seemed to make me more prone to blackheads. In addition to this, my skin felt very oily during the month or so I used this, as the wash completely failed to deliver what it promised.
'Skin is left looking healthy'/I looked terrible, with the slightly grubby greasy skin of someone with a hangover or a caffeine addiction!
*A grain of truth*
In my personal experience of this seemingly pointless male grooming product, one line from the tube isn't entirely fictitious: 'The special formulation is free from... colourants and alcohol to reduce the risk of skin irritations'. This isn't exactly a claim to fame - as a slice of cucumber could say the same, or a small quantity of lemon juice, or a splash of tap water.
At least it looks like I can recycle the packaging.
Summary: Truly one of the worst personal care products I've ever used
