Advantages: good clean

Disadvantages: a bit bland

I like the Nivea products, they offer something for the man who wants to take better care of his face. I have not been overly impressed with Gillette of late, finding their prices way too steep. I dipped into the Nivea shaving gels and never looked back, so I felt it made some sense to give their Face Wash a try.

The key selling point is that this cleanser is alcohol and fragrance free. Now, I do not mind a subtle fragrance, infact I quite like a fruity smell, but I am not a fan of putting loads of alcohol all over my face. I find it very drying and it does not leave the skin feeling soft.

This wash comes in a pleasing squeezy bottle. I like the design because you can squelch it until you have devoured every last droplet. The easy to squeeze bottle also means less spillage and excellent pouring control.

I dispense a small amount onto the palms of my hands and then work into a lather with some warm water. It lathers up a treat and you will notice that a little goes a long way. When you apply to the face you will be greeted by a smooth and slightly creamy facial wash which feels sensual and relaxing on the face. I ensure that I work into face and neck for a thorough clean. It rinses off really easily too and there is no need to spend ages scraping reside of the cleanser away from the eye area.

After a few days of use, I was quite satisfied with the results. It does deliver a solid facial cleanse and the skin is left feeling soft. It does not sting, it does not smell and well...it cleans! Dare I say, it is verging on the bland. The Lush cleansers do this AND have wonderful ingredients and indulgent smells, so I think I might stick with them. Nivea does deliver good enough results, but does not have all the excitement that you get from a Lush cleanser.

Price wise, this will cost you about five pounds from a leading supermarket.

Summary: not bad
