Nivea for men.
Sensitive Balm After Shave.

The first of NIVEA’s products was conceived in 1911. Since this time, NIVEA has become known throughout the world as a leader for its skin-care products.

The word NIVEA is derived from the Latin word “nivius” which means “Snow White”.

I am going to take a look at the NIVEA Men range, and in particular – NIVEA Men Sensitive Balm After Shave.

I first decided to try this product when I began to realise that every time I shaved, and applied the usual smellies I would have a shaving rash for the next couple of days (which I didn’t consider to be very attractive!).

I wasn’t sure that it would make any difference, but I was getting frustrated with my glowing red neck, so needs must.

I had already become aware by this time that I seemed to be allergic to certain soaps, etc, so I decided that the Sensitive Balm was the guy for me.

The packaging states that the balm is enriched with chamomile and vitamins and was alcohol free so it all sounding very soothing.

The Look.

This product looks exactly as you would expect. It is a thick milky balm that is white in colour. It is not greasy and is smooth to the touch.

The Smell.

Well this always baffles me. The packaging states that this product is Fragrance Neutral but there is definitely an odour to it. Having said that, it is a pleasant smell that leaves you feeling clean.

The Packaging.

I have purchased the 100ml bottle, but I believe that there are other sizes available. The bottle is white and emblazoned with the NIVEA Men logo, plus the product info on the back. This is encased in a box, which is again white, with the NIVEA Men logo and the product info (just in case you didn’t see it on the bottle). The ingredients also appear on the back of the box, and should be studied before use commences.

The
Proof Of The Pudding.

OK, so you don’t eat it, but as you apply this to your newly-shaven area you will realise it’s effects. It immediately cools the area and softens. You find that this continues, with re-applications, and that shaving-rash that we hate so much never rears its ugly head. The smell is pleasant enough that you don’t feel the need to apply some “proper” aftershave.

So, Would I Recommend?

Well, this really comes down to your skin type. There are other versions of this balm for differing skin types but if you don’t rash up as easily as I do, then you may not need this product.

I have found that this product helps whether you have a wet-shave, or if you just run your electric shaver.

Price.

Well, at just over £5 it can seem a little expensive, but I use mine regularly and a 100ml bottle usually lasts me for around 2-3 months.

The review in this category should really be on the range in general rather than just the one product (that should have been suggested seperatly).

I'm always on the lookout for skin care products for my man. He doesn't get shaving rash but i think he should get some extra moisture in his skin as he works outside. I'll get some for him to give a go.
Thanks
