But, I was not there just to admire the packaging, I was there to see if this cream actually worked! It is a pretty thick cream which means you do not need to apply as much as you would with other products (I found this out after my first try left me slightly pale to say the least!) After applying the cream, visibility of the dry skin was none-existent, and my skin was lef...more

Crowned Review Nivea Intensive Cream for Men: MEN AND FACE CREAM? (798 words)
by - written on 28/03/05 (Very useful, 6281 readings)
Rating:

---General Overview--- Face cream for men has actually come of age and the pharmaceutical companies must be rubbing their hands with glee. Having used some sort of face cream most of my life due to a mild skin problem I have had no problem transferring my use over to commercially advertised products rather than a cream advised by the doctor. The reason I could do this with Nivea cream is due its neutral fragrance (so no irritable alcohol) and it has also been dermatologically approved. However even creams recommened by doctors have caused irritation due to the sensitive nature of my skin (it is very difficult to pinpoint the exact reason for this) but this ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review It's cream Jim, but not as we know it! (1083 words)

Now beauty is not something I usually worry about, after all when you look this good naturally why should you? Seriously though, the only thing I do in the facial department is use Clearasil wipes and haven?t even thought about using anything else! Of course I do use moisturising lotion (E45 and the like) on other parts of my body (namely my stump and skin grafts)! It was that time of the year again when certain members of the family with no inclination to go shopping for novel or unusual presents began to ask the age old question ?What do you want for Christmas?. Racking my brain (took the whole of a second) there was nothing I really wanted unless they would ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Nivea Intensive Cream for Men: Man Cream ! (493 words)
by - written on 09/12/05 (Very useful, 318 readings)
Rating:

Only a few years back, us guys would have had funny looks if we admitted to using facial care products. Just imagine the scene, after a brutal and bloody rugby match, rushing back for a group shower experience, drying off and then pulling a jar of moistureiser out of the locker and applying it to your face. I get the feeling that the result would be along the lines of name calling or the dreaded towel-whip ! Times, however, have changed - and cosmetic and skincare companies, such as Nivea, are introducing ranges specifically for men. This review is for just one product in their range - Nivea For Men Intensive Cream. The Product ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review The Stigma of Male Grooming (438 words)
by - written on 18/07/04 (Very useful, 220 readings)
Rating:

A look of shock and disbelief comes over some blokes faces when I say I moisturise my skin daily. There?s a stigma attached in the majority of the male world that it?s quite a vain thing to do. Well if you have dry skin like me then it?s not vain, it?s just necessity. Not only that but it means my skin looks more healthy and no doubt will do in years to come. Then I?ll be having the last laugh! For quite a few years I?d been using the Aloe Vera moisturiser from The Body Shop. It wasn?t cheap at around £6 but it lasted a while and had a tendency to cause some of my facial hair to become highlighted. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Nivea Intensive Cream for Men: Face cream is now acceptable for the male of the species! (356 words)
by - written on 19/01/06 (Very useful, 1517 readings)
Rating:

For a while now i have suffered from irritating and unsightly dry skin. I get this mostly all over my face. I will come out the shower and my face will feel tight and it becomes pale and flakey. I used standard nivea for ages but this I felt was too thick and left my skin feeling greasy. On a hot day with a bit of sweat, my skin would go horribly greasy. If you suffer this problem like me then this is the cream for you. ---Description--- The cream comes in either a blue glass tub containing 50ml or a 75ml plastic squeezy tube. I prefer the glass tub as you don't need much of the cream for a small area like your face and the squeezy tube can ...  Read the complete review
