Advantages: Excellent, Non greasy
Disadvantages: none
Now beauty is not something I usually worry about, after all when you look this good naturally why should you? Seriously though, the only thing I do in the facial department is use Clearasil wipes and haven?t even thought about using anything else! Of course I do use moisturising lotion (E45 and the like) on other parts of my body (namely my stump and skin grafts)! It was that time of the year again when certain members of the family with no inclination to go shopping for novel or unusual presents began to ask the age old question ?What do you want for Christmas?. Racking my brain (took the whole of a second) there was nothing I really wanted unless they would invest a £1,000 or more on a lap top for me. This was of course not an option, as they hardly have Richard Branson?s wealth! So I said I?d let them know and began to think? I could ask for slippers? No that was last years present, and they REALLY weren?t happy to see the dog chewing them a few months later! What about printer paper? No they really would have less of an idea than me, and I?d probably end up with an A4 lined pad! Then it hit me, the one good present I got from this certain party was a Gillette Mach 3 razor set a few years back? No-I didn?t want another Mach 3 razor, but instead I decided to ask for Nivea shaving foam, and stipulated the foam part (I am not a lover of gels). Okay they said as they took my idea on board, and I was relieved that I wouldn?t have any more nagging about what I wanted. Christmas came and as I opened the present I could see it was a Nivea Gift pack, but what?s this shaving gel! Didn?t they listen? Also in this gift pack was a host of other Nivea for men products including moisturising lotion. Nivea moisturising lotion comes under the Face care division so I assume this cream is meant to be placed on your face. But hey all creams are greasy and leave your clothes sticking to your skin don?t they? (Not that you wear clothes on your
face of course). So now came the time to try this (after all why waste it?) So I took the rather smart looking box which is dark blue in colour, with the Nivea logo set at the top and on the front, with the words for men Emblazoned underneath in silver letters. Below that are the two words - Skin care. The bottom half of the box is silver in colour and tells you what is inside the box in blue writing. I also gathered from the box that this product would protect and moisturise my skin. Inside the box you have a rather tasteful dark blue tube which holds the cream. Again the Nivea logo and lettering is as on the box. This particular tube has 50 ml encased within the smart looking tube. The box tells you how to use: Apply every morning and evening after cleansing with Nivea for men double action face wash. Avoid delicate eye area. So no rubbing it into your eyes then! Luckily I also had the Nivea face wash within the pack so decided to use that too. (And I have to say it made my face feel a lot cleaner than using my Clearasil pads. So after drying my face from the wash, I opened the tube and put a little amount on my hand, and began rubbing it into my face. The first thing I noticed about the cream was its thickness; you didn?t need to immediately turn it up the other way to prevent dripping. A little bit goes a long way too. The first little piece I put on was hardly enough to cover a pin head, let alone do anything good for me. So I placed some more (about a small finger nail size) on my palm and rubbed it in. I did notice that even upon rubbing the cream didn?t feel greasy and was soon absorbed into the skin. It also made the skin feel softer and me feel younger (no comments please). Honestly, I felt as if I was doing something good for myself (well my skin anyway), which is good for me as I don?t do much exercise, and even though I try to eat healthily it doesn?t always work. But this little twice daily routine coul
d be the starter? Nivea products have been around for ages, and indeed when I had plastic surgery I was told to put Nivea cream on my donor sites by the hospital (though they only prescribed E45). As the brand has been around for a while it indicates that they must be doing something right, and this product doesn?t fail them. So why do we need to moisturise? Daily regime?s lead us into all sorts of atmospheres which have a toll on our skin. Central heating, wind, sun, and even shaving all take their toll on what is after all a delicate part of our body, The skin. This cream helps protect your face against such modern day necessities, and also helps it to regenerate. If you have ever suffered with any form of dry skin you?ll know how unpleasant it can be. It contains UV filters, Vitamin E and pro-vitamin B5. The pack claims if you use it every day your skin will feel soft, healthy and moisturised? And it does! Nivea for men moisturiser is approved by dermatologists Overall: Moisturising your skin has always been seen as a thing that women do, but increasingly men too are finding the difference by adding a little extra to their faces. And this product is excellent. From the packaging to the contents I would be extremely hard pushed to fault it in any way. Moreover, the product works and you do feel the difference. Nivea have again excelled in their face car products (their shaving foam is the best I have ever used, and the face wash I got with my present made me feel cleaner instantly). Highly recommended: Thanks for reading ? Dave
