Advantages: LEAVES SKIN SOFT AND SUPPLE

Disadvantages: NONE THAT I CAN FIND

Of late I have found that my skin is looking under par, there are a lot more dry patches appearing and it just seems a little lack lustred. I use to use simple face moisturiser but this was not on a regular basis and when I had run out and wanted to buy some more, the shop did not have none, so I looked for an alternative and found it in Nivea Soft - Intensive Moisturising Cream.

I don't have the skin of a 20 year old anymore, I am 32 and my skin is tired, through having not enough sleep due to two children, one of whom enjoys waking up at stupid o'clock, through the elements of our great British weather, one minute its hot, then cold, rain, wind, snow, my skin doesn't know whether its coming or going. Also using makeup has taken its toll, the regular women's problems that we have to endure, I could go on and on and on, but I think you get the picture, my skin isn't what it use to be and I now have to take a lot more care of it, and I cannot take it for granted anymore.
I am glad I have discovered Nivea Soft, I am now on my 5th tube so it must be doing something right.

****The Packaging****

The tube is white with Nivea Soft written towards the top in white encased by a blue square and two swishes of colour, one light blue and one light green. Below it says what the product is and what it can achieve, this is that it is Intensive Moisturiser Cream for invigorated, smooth skin. At the bottom of the tube it states that it contains Jojoba oil and vitamin E.
On the back is all the usual stuff, a statement from nivea about the cream, the ingredients, there is a long list of these, so if you decide to purchase this product and you are interested in the content, just have a read of the back of the tube. It also has the address of the company, the amount in the tube and how long the tube should be kept for. That's enough about the packaging, as I feel it is more important to know about the cream inside.

****The Intensive Moisturiser Cream and whether it works****

Nivea says that this is a highly effective moisturising cream for everyday use on face, body and hands. It says for you to enjoy a fresh moisture boost, and that the cream absorbs into your skin quickly leaving it feeling sensationally soft, supple and invigorated.

Well I can tell you that it does all of the above, I guess it depends on your skin type as to how compatible it is, my skin type is combination, on occasion it is slightly greasy and then on another occasion it can develop dry patches.

When I wake up in the morning I wash my face and squeeze out about an almond size of cream onto my finger tips, I then work it into my face making sure to put it onto my nose, chin, forehead and cheeks and joining it all up, any excess I rub into my neck. The cream rubs in extremely well and feels cool and refreshing, it almost wakes up my face. I then go about my business of putting on makeup, and I can honestly say that the moisturiser makes for a great base to put on a liquid foundation, I tend to find that if I put on foundation without any moisturiser underneath, that it tends to cling to the dry areas and doesn't go on evenly, but this moisturiser allows my skin to feel soft and manageable, and it leaves just enough moisture so that the foundation works in extremely well and gets applied evenly.

I also use the moisturiser again in the afternoon, especially during summer, when I get all hot and bothered, so much so that I need to wash my face to feel refreshed, so again I get a boost from the cream. I also apply the cream last thing at night before bed, I wash off all traces of dirt and makeup and apply the cream in the same way as mentioned above. It firstly cools my face down, it stops my skin drying out from the face wash and water, and it leaves it feeling extremely soft, this feeling continues until the morning, I probably add a little more at night to my skin, but in the morning my skin feels soft and smooth, and then my routine begins all over again.

Just as a brief note the moisturiser also says that it is pH balanced, I have found through research that the pH balance shows the acidity or alkalinity of a product, 7 is the neutral spot, a ph balanced skin care product is one that is adjusted to have the same pH as the hair or skin. Most good moisturisers have a pH level of 3.5 and 5.5 which is close to the pH level of skin, this is taken from an article on the internet, I do not know the exact pH level of this product, I just felt that I should explain briefly what it means, if you need to know anything further then I would advise you to research it, the same goes for the statement that the product is dermatologically tested, researching this can open up a whole can of worms, and delves into what exactly the products were tested on, this is just a review on the product itself and how good or bad it is, once again if you need to know more then I would research it further.

****The Cost****

The cost of this product is very reasonable, for a 75ml tube purchased in boots, you will pay £1.79, a 200ml pot will cost £4.59 from boots again, and a 300ml pot will cost £6.85 also from boots. I am sure that in other shops the price will vary, you just need to look around.

****Summary****

I cannot fault this product, it does what it says, as I have mentioned I guess it does depend on your skin type, you just need to try it to find out, I know that come the winter I will definitely be using this on my hands and body also, as this is the season that the rest of my skin gets extremely dry in, I am hoping that it will have the same effect.

Summary: A GREAT MOISTURISER
