One of my favourites is Nivea SOS Lip Balm currently priced £3.19 at Boots. Mind you as usual I wait until the lip balms are on special offer, which they often are, and buy three for the price of two. You might know I’d have a bargain there somewhere! The lip balm comes fixed to a piece of cardboard by means of clear plastic so all the packaging is recycleable then, so that’s a good start as far as I am concerned. The tube itself also ends up in the recycling bag when it is empty too! The writing on the cardboard promises ‘first aid for lips’ and ‘instant relief for sore, dry lips’. The cream lives up to both of these promises as I will tell you ... Read the complete review

I discovered this about three months ago when I was suffering from a cold and had really painful and chapped lips that were giving me hell. I suffer from dry lips anyway so generally have a wide range of lip balms, but none of these were helping with my lips. So one lunchtime I decided I'd had enough and marched my way to Boots to find a new lip balm. They had a massive selection and I had no idea which one to choose, so many of them say that they moisturise that you don't know which one to go for! Nivea SOS caught my eye because it looked like a cream and I felt like my lips needed to be really moist, rather than have a stick lip balm which dries and disappears in 30 ... During my recent attack of flu, I found myself using kitchen roll to blow my nose which had some unfortunate side-effects - firstly, my wife went mad when I used the entire roll and secondly, it made my top lip and nasal area extremely sore. In fact, the skin directly below my nose was an angry red colour and had more chaps than Bonanza (a 1970s cowboy series for you yougsters out there). As my runny nose refused to stop streaming fluid I had to keep blowing it and with each tissue used my top lip became worse. As I am sure Bill Clinton would agree, I needed instant relief. As I scoured the medicine cabinet a small tube dropped onto the ... Read the complete review

Nivea SOS Lip balm. This is a sore dry chapped lip cure. Bought it last year in the winter and although it is quite expensive it is worth it. It costs about £3.20 from Boots, but it lasts ages. If you shop about or wait until they are on special offer you will get it cheaper. It doesnt really smell of anything, it is white and comes out in a cream sort of substance but it goes clear on your lips. It is really small so its handy for your bag or even pocket. It really does work trust me. The lip balm has also been dermatologically proven, and instant relief for sore lips. You dont need to apply much for it too work, so it lasts ages. If you suffer from sore lips alot i ... Read the complete review
