This is the last review in my trilogy of sun creams! Just to recap, and for those who haven't read the others, I have an allergy to the sun that brings me out in patches of itchy, painful blisters and through the months where the sun is shining I have to wear sun lotion in place of moisturiser and on any areas that are exposed. Although annoying and inconvenient it's something I've got used to over the years and it does put me in an excellent position to test if a lotion actually works or not.

This Nivea Sun Light Feeling Sun Lotion is SPF 30. You can buy it in lower factors but factor 30 is what I consider to be as low as I can go at this time of year. The bottle is light blue and tells us the lotion is instantly absorbed, non-greasy and water resistant.

When I first saw a bottle of this I read these claims and thought they can't possibly be true. Sun cream doesn't usually get absorbed and is always greasy isn't it? I bought some for £12, it's a 200ml bottle so there's plenty in there for your money.

I have to say the claims are absolutely true. Amazingly this lotion does absorb much like a normal moisturiser and leaves only the barest hint of a sheen on your skin that lets you know it's on there. The sheen however isn't greasy to the touch and when you feel your skin after applying this lotion it just feels soft, silky and supple. Amazing!

As for the water resistant claim, it is but not as good as the factor 50 I reviewed yesterday. You need to reapply more often with this cream and the fact it absorbs so well makes it hard to tell if you've still got any on so for people like me this means regular applications if I intend to swim using this. To be honest I've only ever put this to the trial for water resistance once and that was because the sun was pretty weak at the time and I didn't get any blisters but did apply very regularly. I'm more likely to use the factor 50 for swimming outdoors as it needs to be pretty hot for me to want to swim outdoors in the first place!

The scent of this lotion is slightly different to other sun creams too and there's a fresh scent to it which is unusual. It also seems slightly thinner in consistency to many other lotions which does help with the application and no doubt assists the absorption.

It protects against UVA and UVB rays and needs reapplying about every half hour when you're out and about. The protection is instant so this is great for me as I seem to spend the summer constantly applying sun lotions!

Factor 30 is considered very high protection so for the majority of people this would be enough to stop the harmful rays of the sun all summer, even on the hottest days. For me however it is my preferred choice for late spring to early summer and late summer to early autumn. This is the lotion I use the most as we don't have many scorching days here in the U.K but if we get a day that's over 20 degrees I tend to step up my protection to factor 50 instead.

I can honestly say my skin loves this lotion. It's very important to me to find a product that doesn't clog the pores on my face or leave my skin looking dull as I have to use it so much of the year and this lotion really lives up to all its claims. As I have dry skin I also have to find one that moisturises enough or I end up with flaky skin on my face too and this lotion even stops that from happening too.

It's an excellent product that I can't recommend highly enough. On ebay there are bottles for just under £5 but usually it sells for about £12.

Summary: Brilliant, the best sun lotion around
