Advantages: A bargain

Disadvantages: Strange smell

I have to use a face moisturiser every day otherwise despite being a little oily the skin can feel dry and tight and look a little blotchy. I have to be careful with the type of face cream I use, if I use something too heavy it makes my spots and oilyness worse but if I use something not rich enough I have to apply it again later in the day, lately I've been feeling like I cant win, and I'm not a teenager anymore, I'm 30 and starting to see lines around my eyes!

I used to use a face gel but now I'm getting on a bit I thought I need something a bit more grown up and nourishing, Nivea is a brand I know and trust so I chose one of the lighter face creams. It's sold in 50ml tubes which may not sound like much but you dont need more than a small blob each morning on your face.

When applying this I need only a small dab on my fingers which spreads easily over my face, it sinks in quickly and doesnt leave any stickiness or rich feeling on my skin. It's a good base for make up too which I have to wear every day otherwise I would scare people :)

This cream claims to be refreshing, well I wouldnt go that far but it's not claggy or too rich so they can be forgiven. I've noticed I havent had too many breakouts since I started to use this too which I'm really pleased with.

I think this cream smells a little like baby powder which irritates me a little, strange I know but I've never liked the smell of the stuff, bad luck if I ever have a kid then! the smell doesnt linger for long though and once I've drenched myself in body spray and deodorant any fragrance has long been overpowered.

Unless I find a cheaper alternative I'm going to stick with this cream, it's only around £5 for a tube which is lasting me ages, I bought it about 3 weeks ago and I've barely used any of it. It's a bargain and tonnes better than the rubbish I once bought from Clinique that cost 5 times the price and gave me the worst case of spots since my teens, never again.

Summary: Try it
