Advantages: Moisturising remover

Disadvantages: Need to apply pressure

Removing make -up is essential, no one should leave their face clogged up overnight, apart from making a mess on the pillowcase and looking a sight in the morning it really isn't good for your skin. I usually use Boots No 7 products and although it will remove eye shadow it doesn't do anything for mascara.

I tried new mascara recently - but that is another review as will be the eye liner, it was a brilliant turquoise colour, a gift in a bag of goodies, and both stayed on all day. I decided to try my new eye make-up remover last night, which was another item in the big box of products I received at Christmas. I pulled off the top to reveal a push button dispenser. Like other cleansing products the bottle is clear plastic, and the base is round but it changes to an oval shape at the top, making it an attractive bottle. This is quite dinky and contains 100mls of blue liquid. I pressed the dispenser down a couple of times and squirted the blue remover onto a wad of cotton wool and closed my eye, as instructed and wiped it across the lashes. A lot of mascara was removed but it did take a few swipes to make my eyelashes look clean. The eye liner obviously had partly come off onto the cotton wool as I could see the colour, but it needed a few more wipes. I used clean cotton wool for both eyes so as not to risk any infection passing from one eye to the other, not that I currently have any infection but am prone to sore eyes. The cleanser felt quite greasy so was easy to wipe over my eye, and my eye lashes and eye area felt well moisturised after cleansing, instead of dry and itchy, may be the new mascara helped, but I felt the cleanser was very comfortable to use. I then cleansed the rest of my face and applied night cream as usual.

Morning dawned and I noticed in the better light that I still had traces of the eye liner, so out came the bottle and two squirts and a quick wipe and it disappeared, but oh golly I was surprised to see there were still traces of mascara left and yet my eye lashes looked really clean. I tried the other eye and again there were some traces, so I would advise to remove the entire eye make up and then take a clean piece of cotton wool and wipe again to remove any traces that are left. I hadn't used very much, maybe more would have been better the first time! But you can be sure it is all removed by using clean cotton wool.

There is no fragrance to the remover and it has been ophthalmologist tested and is suitable for sensitive eyes. It is described as being twice as nice to your eyes as you cleanse and care for your eyes with one action.
I really liked the gentle feeling as I applied it, and will continue to use this, as it removed the mascara and eye shadow very easily, and it says it will even remove waterproof mascara. It just needed a little more effort on the eye liner! But it did really make the eye area feel hydrated and that is a much neglected area as lotions and potions always say avoid delicate eye area! Better than using Vaseline, which I used to apply occasionally.

It costs £7.00 for the 100ml bottle and, will last a long time as even with the second cleansing I still only used 8 squirts. I like the pump action rather than tipping a bottle as I always tip too much out and waste it, or knock the bottle over!

Boots No 7 have a huge range of products and the eye remover is suitable for all skin types. They had an offer last time I was in with a free bag of goodies if you spend £20.

I use baby wipes to remove make up and find they remove even the most stubborn mascara.
