Advantages: Work very well and leave no trace of make up.
Disadvantages: Expensive.
No7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 face wipes are to be found with the make up and face care products at the No7 Boots counters in their stores.
You will recognise them by their turquoise packaging and their white plastic lid opening system, which is a good attribute, as it allows easy dispensing of the wipes, as well as ensuring they remain moist after each closure.
Buying wipes specific to a make up brand is not something I would do at the full retail price, which is over £6.50 for 30. I prefer to use cleanser and cotton wool, as it seems more ethical to me, and less detrimental to the environment. However for travelling I never take cream cleanser, as it is often in a packaging too voluminous to be accepted on the planes on which I travel in hand luggage, and there is also the risk of spillage. Products like this are also heavy so I prefer to use wipes for this reason.
These wipes are something I look out for when Boots have an offer on which they do at the moment. If you spend over £5 in store on anything at all, you will receive a voucher to spend on Ruby and Millie or No 7. I normally buy some Ruby and Millie lipsticks, as I love these, and the £5 saving makes these more affordable, and then with any remaining vouchers I always buy these wipes, which work out at less than £1.50 this way-a real bargain!
The wipes claim to be 4 in 1 which means they cleanse, tone, remove eye make up, and moisturise, which is quite a statement. They contain pro B5 which has softening qualities, and extracts of witch hazel and fennel, which are included as they clear pores and freshen up the skin.
You can't flush them but have to place in a bin after use. So how do they perform?
I wear most items of make up on a daily basis, so foundation, blusher, and of course eye make up. I wear quite a lot of the latter and usually green eye shadow, and lashings of mascara, so removing it at night is important. I also wear contact lenses so have to be careful to choose products which are sensitive on the eyes. I have a personal preference for anything which smells fresh and clean, and prefer that over something which claims to provide moisturiser, as in the case of these wipes, as I have a favourite moisture cream or two which I never mind using after cleansing.
They are hypo-allergenic though which I like.
The wipes themselves are a study product and a good size. I feel they have a baby lotion aroma about them, and they take me back to the days when my children were tiny! They remove every trace of make up thoroughly, and I only ever need to use one, so in this area they perform very well indeed. Where I am not so convinced is the moisture element -they certainly feel soft and leave the skin smooth, but I would certainly need some extra moisture cream after use. As I am almost 50 this is probably my age, so if you are young they may be all you need to feel fresh, cleansed and moisturised.
I think I must be honest and say that unless I had a voucher I wouldn't buy these. This is for the simple reason I feel there are products just as good in the Johnson range (2.99 for 25), for example, and there are others, which are moisturising, but which come in under the price substantially.
They are good quality and work perfectly well, but I just couldn't justify the extra outlay for a product which has no real extra benefits, on my skin anyway, that a competitor has for half the cost. When you think that The Johnsons Facial Wipes are going to save you over £3 a month it seems to me that it is £36 in a year wasted, buying something which has no outstanding features.
That's only my opinion though, and as wipes they are extremely good, just too hefty a price tag to pay for me personally. I will pay more if a product is ethical or organic, or I simply love it, but these are just good study solid wipes at an inflated price.
Summary: Good if you can get them with a voucher.
